It was, but it still does not make it right.
Sadly, on this new format, I am afraid we need to be much more careful with our language.

I can’t imagine there’s any other person who took him seriously like you did here. We need to stop running around like around like little scared children, taking offense at this word and that word and nearly every little thing, and warning everyone not to do what they’re doing

I get this is sarcasm, but there are so many young, and seemingly unstable people lurking on this forum now, without the moderation that we once had so I think we need to make sure we think before we post.

This guy admitted he doesn’t like the text and changes it.

He also changed a whole passage in order to diminsh a substantial point about sin!!

Then you really need to talk to the Pastor about this. What he is doing is seriously wrong. If your Pastor is not willing to deal with this, then you need to speak to the Bishop about this. Lectors, deacons and priests must read what is exactly written in the Lectionary, nothing more and nothing less.

A Lector who is unable or unwilling to proclaim the Word of God as written in the Lectionary is unqualified to fulfill the ministry. It is the pastor’s (or parish administrator’s) responsibility to adequately screen and evaluate such volunteers according to teachings and norms of the Church regarding their suitability for the ministry.

My pet peeve is educated people using “I” when “me” is the right word. “Come see Mr. Smith or I about your issue” (grrr) ON topic I have to be careful reading when there is a song from the text I am reading

Like the time when I was cantoring and almost sang “Be not afraid, I goes before E always, I follows E when it comes after C”
