Besides being Protestant, what do Catholics find objectionable in Joyce Meyer’s teachings? I know that many Protestants criticize her teachings.

Two words.Besides being Protestant, what do Catholics find objectionable in Joyce Meyer’s teachings? I know that many Protestants criticize her teachings.

What’s theologically wrong with the "propsperity gospel?’’ I’m asking because I have a Catholic friend that’s into Joys Meyer and Joel Osteen. From her website,
Does Joyce Meyer Ministries teach a “prosperity gospel”?
Joyce Meyer Ministries believes that God desires to bless His people. Joyce teaches that God’s blessings and prosperity apply to the spiritual, emotional, physical and financial areas of life. These blessings and prosperity are then to be used to bless others (see Genesis 12:1-3). A “prosperity gospel” that solely equates blessing with financial gain is out of balance and could damage a person’s walk with God.
The primary problem that I see with the prosperity gospel is that it is condemnatory without just cause. Essentially, the point is that if a Christian suffers lack or goes through sickness, the basic reason is the Christian’s lack of faith. If the Christian understood the Bible correctly and had the proper faith in God, he or she would never suffer lack or sickness. This is flat-out condemnation for those Christians who do go through times of suffering. What’s theologically wrong with the "propsperity gospel?’’ I’m asking because I have a Catholic friend that’s into Joys Meyer and Joel Osteen.

Wow,I had never even considered that, but it’s spot on!Thank you.(By the way, it’s also a form of Gnosticism. The proper “knowledge,” which is hidden from the rank-and-file Christians, translates into “blessings from God.”)
Charges of “gnosticism” seem overdone. What, specifically, is this “secret knowledge” that Meyer hides from rank-and-file Christians?(By the way, it’s also a form of Gnosticism. The proper “knowledge,” which is hidden from the rank-and-file Christians, translates into “blessings from God.”)
I dont’ think she teaches a message of prosperity , she is real in her approach , she always aknowledges her faults and teaches people to love God and others to do good to be thankful to God for your circumstances good or bad to be nice to peole to take ourselves out of our minds and put others first etc Do people really listen to her or are just judging , after all we can see if what she says is what God has to say in the Bible . She has helped me to be a better person in the inside …God bless her and use her .If your faith is strong enough you will never want for money and always have perfect health. Because Jesus wants you to have these things. As was pointed out, if you don’t have them, your faith isn’t strong enough.
Joyce Meyer is truly a gifted teacher, and I mentioned earlier that I regard her highly. She’s not “hiding” her knowledge from other Christians. However, she to a lesser extent, and other TV ministers to a much greater extent, do commonly put down the vast majority of Christians, whom they regard as living in unbelief and lack of knowledge of God.Charges of “gnosticism” seem overdone. What, specifically, is this “secret knowledge” that Meyer hides from rank-and-file Christians?
Well, yeah. But come on—treasury of merit, importance of baptism, the true Body and Blood, confessing of sins, Liturgy? It is interesting that I live a few miles from where she lives. I don’t see much to object to if all you want is platitudes and stuff that “tickles your ears”. There is much more that is important that I don’t hear her preach about. So if the quality of preaching is about what makes you feel good and avoiding important stuff while you do it, then she qualifies as very good.
If we want substance, for example, of how we build up the Body of Christ and add to the Treasury of Merit, how the importance of Baptism is to our souls, the value of receiving the true Body and Blood of Christ to grow in His Holiness, the necessity for Grace, the confessing of sins, the importance of Liturgy, etc, she misses many of the points as so does her audience.
I listen to her every now and then.
