I just have to laugh at myself and share my laugh with ya’ll. At first glance I thought this thread read “…favorite Martian apparition.” Ooops! :whacky:

I love Our Lady, but there’s something about her appearing at Guadalupe that appeals to me in a special way. I can’t explain why.

My favorite apparition is the one where Our Lady recommends
  1. Prayer with the heart: Rosary
  2. Eucharist
  3. Holy Bible
  4. Fasting
  5. Monthly confession
I’m sorry I can’t mention the name of it. Since it is “unapproved,” it will be wiped off this forum faster than a speeding bullet. I have also read “The Miracle Detective” by Randall Sullivan. What an awesome book!

I love the apparition of the Virgin of Revelation at Tre Fontaine in Rome. It was here that the Blessed Mother appeared to Bruno Cornacchiola and his three children on April 12, 1947. Bruno was a man who was Catholic, left to become a Seventh Day Adventist, was a wife beater, refused to let his youngest child be baptized and was planning on killing Pope Pius XII. In a cave in the park which was the site of much immorality she appeared first to the children and later Bruno to whom she revealed the state of his soul. It was a life changing experience from him. He later met with Pope Pius XII and gave him the gun that he was going to use to assassinate him with as well as a message from Our Lady. The site once used for immoral liasons now hosts a beautiful shrine that has a spring in it similar to Lourdes which is the source of many healings.

We should mention the very beautiful apparition at Knock, Ireland in 1879.

Here is an excerpt:
As they were walking down the road they came to a location where they could clearly see the church and its gables, at which time Mary O’Beirne turned to her companion and said, “O look at the statues! Why didn’t you tell me the priest had got new statues for the chapel?” Her companion responded that she had heard nothing about new statues but she decided to look more closely. As they approached the church, Mary O’Beirne remarked, “But they are not statues, they’re moving. It’s the Blessed Virgin.”

All of these apparitions are incredible but I mention this one because I am related to one of the people involved.

I voted Our Lady Of Fatima.

Where do I begin why? Everything, the messages the fullfillments the children the sun.

Just that one apparation of our dearest Blessed Mother is enough for anyone with any searching to see and believe in our dear God and the role of Our Lady.

Thank you dear God for all Our Lady`s apparitions!

The Lady of the Rosary. I left the church for 40 years and was guided back by the Lady of Fatima and the three children. Blessed Lucia holds a very special place in my heart.

Born in the southwest, and mostly raised there, I grew up surrounded by images of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Not in my household of course, (my father is still scandalized that I’m Catholic), but in friends’ homes and in the surrounding communities.

Even though I’ve been away from the SW for many many years, I still surround myself with artwork and furniture that reminds me of my youth. And that includes images of OLG. :getholy:

I voted other because though I intend to visit some of the Marian shrines abroad, I’ve already visited England’s very own Marian shrine, to…

OUR LADY OF WALSINGHAM!

Mary appeared to Lady Richeldis there in 1061, showing her the Holy House where Jesus was brought up. Lady Richeldis then built an identical Holy House in Walsingham. It was known as England’s Nazareth. In the Reformation it was destroyed by Henry VIII but in the 1900s an Anglican priest and a Catholic priest joined up, rebuilt the shrines, made a replica of the Holy House, and started devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham again.

If you ever visit England, make sure you visit Walsingham, Norfolk - it’s beautiful.

I don’t know if it is my favourite, but I thought I would mention Our Lady of Siluva because it is little known thanks to Russia, but I like the story very much. Actually this was the first widely known apparition of Mary in Europe, and the only to a non-Catholic as I understand. Siluva is in Lithuania.

In the middle of the 1400’s a painting of the Blessed Mother with child was brought from Italy and put in a Church at Siluva where it remained for some decades. Then of course came the protestant reformation and the local government became Calvinist, taking most of the Church’s property. The priest of the church anticipating what would happen built an iron clad box and burried the painting in the ground near a big rock. 80 years passed and the Catholic community in Siluva mostly died out, only a few of the oldest people remembered anything about a Catholic church being there.

One day some children playing near the rock heard some loud crying. They went to investigate and saw a beautiful young lady with a baby in her arms weeping bitterly, tears splashing on the rock. She was dressed in strange blue and white robes such as the children had never seen, and a strange light surrounded her. Then the lady disapeared. One boy ran to tell the Calvinist Pastor, who did not believe him. The boys told their parents however and before long the entire village was gathered around the rock. The pastor upset that his flock would take interest in such a Roman superstision came to tell them to go away.

Then the lady appeared again, the whole crowd standing in amazement that it was just as the children described, including the pastor. Finally the pastor asked the lady why she was crying, and she said “There was a time when my beloved Son was worshipped by my people on this very spot. But now they have given this sacred soil over to the plowman and the tiller and to the animals for grazing.” Without another word, she vanished.

Many were convinced that this was Mary and many began to return to the Catholic Church. An old blind man in a nearby village recalled having once helped a priest bury a box near that rock 80 years ago, and so the people of the village led him there wondering if he could help them locate it. When he reached the site his sight recovered and he immidately was able to help locate the box. Inside the box was the painting and the preist had also happened to bury a deed from the King of old who had given this land to the Catholic Church. With the deed they were able to get the land back in court and there have been more miracles involved with this miraculous image throughout the ages. I have never been because as I understand it’s a bit difficult to find if you don’t speak Lithuanian and half the Lithuanians I know don’t even know about it, the other half being too lazy 😉 but as I understand they have a shrine there now. You can find out the rest if you want! You can also see the image on a website like ourladyofsiluva.com or type it in google and see what else you can find.

Seems to be the gist of most of her apparitions…

WanderAimlessly:
I would say Fatima due to it being the most familiar to me. I have been trying to find a more recent book on it (After the release of the third Mystery), but have not been able to find one.

Try Fatima in Lucia’s Own Words, by Lucia Santos (the visionary who recently died). It has a section on the third secret, including a letter from our current Pope Benedict XVI.

:hmmm: I love them all! It is so hard to pick! I guess my top two are Lourdes and Fatima! I love our Lady!

 :bounce: :angel1: ❤️

my favorites are
  1. Our Lady of The Miraculous Medal
  2. Our Lady of All Nations
  3. Our Lady of Lourdes

Thanks, I will check it out.

I am also thinking of ordering the Fatima: The Story Behind the Miracles by Renzo Allegri. It came out about the same time as the third secret and did like his book on Padre Pio.

I voted “other” but my real answer is… ALL!!!

I love her in all her appearances and give honor and glory and praise to The Holy Trinity for allowing her to help us. Each effort is unique, each one has a special place in my heart.

Hello

The Marian appariton sites that I been to are Lady of walsingham in England, Lourdes in France, Medjugorje in Bosnia and a few in Italy, but not necessary apparitions I think.

God Bless
Saint Andrew.

Ps Going to Lourdes again in September.

 I love them all too, Our Lady of LaSalette is also a beautiful one, …she appeared to two shepherd children, crying, and the Priest are dedicated to drying her tears. That just touches my heart so very much, and I can only imagine how very much it touches hers. She was crying because so many men were offending God, working on Sunday, taking God’s name in vain, drinking, and when they did go to Mass, they were only going to look at women.

Our Lady of Fatima was so very beautiful because the three little children so much wanted to sacrifice for “poor sinners” after they were shown a vision of hell where unrepentant sinners go. I think what really amazed me though, was how an angel appeared to them first and taught them how to Adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. (Another great idea for taking children to Adoration.) Our dear Sr. Lucia died February 13th this year. How very much she did indeed spread devotion to Our Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Heart.

Our Lady of Knock touches me because my parents were born in Ireland and they were there, not when it happend, mind you, but they visited there. When they shared the story with me, it just really touched my heart and amazed me, the only silent one, I believe, but how incredible it must have been to see in person, when it happened, they say people could see it for miles.

Our Lady of Lourdes…and dear St. Bernadette, how awesome that must have been to have Our Lady appear to you, and to just be so happy about such a beautiful lady appearing, and not even knowing that it was the Blessed Mother. How innocent Bernadette was.

Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego, such a vison that must have been for that Bishop when Juan Diego opened his cloak. The fact that Juan was a convert too, impressed me.
When you read about it, the many beautiful things that her cloak represents, you just know that she is the best choice for the preborn. (of course she would be even if she hadn’t have ever appeared, but I am so very happy that she has in so many places, and to so many people.

As someone pointed out earlier, her message is always pretty much the same, pray, fast, receive the Sacraments, make sacrifices for poor sinners and Adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, I believe the one from Knock also reminds us to read our Bible’s.

Just recently I heard about our Lady of Akita, I am still finding out more about that one, it sounds awesome though, as they all our. Our good Lord is so good to allow her to appear to us and remind us of so many things we can do.

To Jesus through Mary, how I love that. Afterall, He choose to come to us through her! Pray your rosary and chaplet often and make small sacrifices with (as our dear Blessed Mother Teresa said, with great love.) I believe that St. Therese, the little flower, may have said that too. 👍

Who could ever forget our dear Lady of the Miraclous Medal? Our dear Blessed Mother is such a beautiful Mother to us all. Thank God for her as we praise Him in His angels and in His Saints.

I wear a Miraclous medal and had it blessed by Fr. Mitch at EWTN, he said such a beautiful prayer when he blessed it and me, and he added, that for anyone who looked upon it, he prayed that they would be blessed too. So, who knows, if you ever see me and my miraclous medal, you will be blessed!!🙂
