What's your favorite religion beside your own?

I don’t think Protestantism counts (since it’s not a different religion) but it would be high church Anglicanism or Lutheranism. If Protestantism doesn’t count… I don’t know :hmmm: As an agnostic I always found the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses interesting as well as the myths of the Norsemen. Sooo paganism?

God bless

For me, I think it would be Islam. I greatly respect their loyalty and devotion to their faith. And I love Middle-Eastern chanting. I admit that I know relatively little of their beliefs, however, beyond the most basic.

I lean towards this as well. Through my exploration of various faiths, I’ve always found paganism the most compelling, especially the beauty of some of the ceremonies.

After that, Shintoism. It’s subtly poetic in a way the writer in me responds to.

Why is there no “none” option?

All religions other than the Christian religion are made by man and inspired by Satan. My favorite and only religion is the Christian faith, passed down to us by the One, True, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

The first criterion for judging a religion is whether it is true. The question is nonsensical.

Your list should certainly include “None” or “Athieism”.

My favorite would have to be Islam and particularly Iran’s version of it, the shi’ite version. Sometimes in the past I would have fantasies of emigrating to Iran as the people seem genuine and down to earth respectful in all the documentaries I have seen on LinkTV. I would like to visit their country some day. Hopefully there is not a war with Iran. Bless:o

Edit to add: Although I would never leave Jesus Christ.

I tend to agree with Chesteron that we should have some gratitude towards Roman paganism. The Church may have been persecuted under Roman rule but it is nothing compared to the persecution Christianity would have endured had it arose under a Carthaginian Empire. There was something about the faith of the Romans that allowed them to continue their fight even while Hannibal was at their gates.

God bless

Not every one has a religion. If I had one I would be a Catholic again.

All other religions? So Judaism is inspired by Satan? I suggest you read what the CCC (paragraph 839) has to say about the Jews:

When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, “the first to hear the Word of God.” The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God’s revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews “belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ”, “for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.”

If I weren’t Christian, Unitarian Universalism, as I love their emphasis on social justice. peace, and tolerance.

Wow. Do you really think Judaism is made by man and inspired by satan?

Germanic polytheism, Classical period Athenian, Minoan and Mycenaean.

Catholicism… I liked it so much I am in the process of converting :). (just joking around a bit)

Actually, I would say “none of the above”… I really love the Christian message and everything else seems too hollow.

I wouldn’t use the word favorite, but I have always been intriqued by the Sikh faith. I have met many of their adherents and have found them to be peaceful loving folks. They belive in the Creator and would not want to do anything to hinder their way to heaven. The fact that they all have the same last name is also very interesting.
