Please ignore this reprehensible post, and please do not judge us Catholics on the basis of Daegus, whose hateful and slanderous postings do not represent the Catholic faith.
It is you and your neo-Catholic brand of soft, material heretics who do not represent the Catholic faith. Answer me this, do we need to pray for the conversion of the Jews?

Answer me this: Is a religion that denies Christ NOT inspired by Satan?

Stop trying to skirt your way around the issue in your haste to pander to the Jewish community, false ecumenist.

You really should cease with you slandering and blasphemy, and quit before you bury yourself. The more you post, the more you reveal your own ignorance, your lack of faithfulness to the teaching authority of the Church, and the hatred of your heart-while at the same time giving the Church a bad name.
“[G]iving the Church a bad name”

“your lack of faithfulness to the teaching authority of the Church”

You say I “give the Church a bad name”, as if that somehow detracts from the truthfulness of the Church. You sound like a Protestant. Then you say I am not faithful to the teaching authority of the Church. How so? By denouncing “Judaism” for what it is? I’m not sure why you people, who call yourselves "Catholic, seem to think that the Judaism of the Bible is still a valid religion. How could it possibly be valid when there is no sacrifice, no temple, etc? Come on now.
Furthermore, you slander me personally when you accuse me of things that are not true. I do not believe that conversion of the Jews isn’t necessary, I do not believe that all religions are the same, and I do not believe that all religions are equal in truth.
Then why do you refuse to denounce a religion that denies its own God as inspired by Satan? You’re not being consistent.

I certainly don’t judge all Catholics by the remarks of Daegus. I teach in a Catholic university, have several Catholic friends, and have met many kind and devout Catholics on this Forum. Daegus is misinformed about Catholicism as well as Judaism. He also seems to have no good words for other religions either since he states they are all inspired by Satan. He is obviously misguided and needs our prayers. Thanks for your words of encouragement.

This has the potential to be such an interesting thread. I sure hope it can be positive and free from drama. Please?

They need no improvement as your useless comments would suggest. Do not speak of “charity” and then expect me to embrace your satanic religion. That’s laughable.

When Palestinian children aren’t being needlessly murdered by the IDF maybe we’ll talk about “Christian charity”.
Judaism, a satanic religion? You do understand that Jesus was a devout Jew. Prayed in the temple, honored the Sabbith and all other Jewish Holy Days.

Sorry, dude. But, you message is just plain hateful.

I am embarrassed over this and want to appologise to all of our non-Catholic friends. This is not what the rest of us believe. Nor what the Catholic or any Protestant Church teaches.

Judaism would be my first choice, and Islam, specifically Sufism would be my second choice. Really this was a particularly hard choice for me because I really admire the mystic element of Sufism.

None.

None of the others can offer anything even remotely close to as beautiful as Christianity.

Sikhism. I have a fascination with the religion since watching Singh is Kinng. I love Bollywood, and the movie was one of the most religious I’ve seen in awhile, in that God and morality were discussed often and were usually the motives of the main character.

I love all the “Why would I want to study something else?” answers. It’s like those people who say the Bible is their favorite book and silently judge you for not saying the same. 😉

I voted Judaism…I am Jewish technically but I forget everything about it cuz I stopped going to temple when I was like 9 or 10. It’d be cool to be in touch with my roots and all that stuff. Humanistic Judaism is what interests me in particular.

It was not a choice for the poll but my other religious interest is neopaganism. Some sort of nature religion. I like the idea of Mother Nature as an alternative to God.

I voted Hinduism. I hold a degree in religious studies and I find Hinduism to be a beautiful, rich and mostly peaceful religion. It helped me to understand aspects of Catholicism that were otherwise hard for me to grasp like the Trinity.

My second choice would be. To learn what my ancient Irish ancestors believed in. Prior, to becoming Christian. I think it would be interesting.

My favorite would have to be Islam and particularly Iran’s version of it, the shi’ite version. Sometimes in the past I would have fantasies of emigrating to Iran as the people seem genuine and down to earth respectful in all the documentaries I have seen on LinkTV. I would like to visit their country some day. Hopefully there is not a war with Iran. Bless:o

Edit to add: Although I would never leave Jesus Christ.
I teach conversational English in a university setting and know many, many people from Iran. They are some of the nicest, calmest, friendliest, most enjoyable people I have ever met.

Judaism. I have often thought I would gladly convert if only they recognized the deity of Christ and His sacrifice for salvation.

Then why do you refuse to denounce a religion that denies its own God as inspired by Satan? You’re not being consistent.
Daegus,

One question, can you cite sources where religion that denies Christ is inspired by Satan? I would really appreciate to know what sources you are working from.

God Bless.

P.S. Sorry about the quote function not working for this post. Sometimes it is a mystery why this function works somedays and does not work other days.

Meltzerboy,

I could not help but be a little concerned when reading through this thread yesterday. However reading your reply leaves me much in peace.

God bless.

One thing I have in mind is: why weren’t multiple choices allowed? 😃

Judaism and Islam, by nature of their being Abrahamic religions, are of course on the top of my list. The various schools of Mahayana Buddhism and the manifold forms of Shinto throughout history come next - after all, I live in Japan, and you just can’t not know these stuff. 😉

Because of my love of history, mythology, and religions in general, I also have a professional interest in the following (in no particular order):

1.) Historical Vedic religion (and its later offshoot, Hinduism)
2.) Ancient Egyptian religion
3.) Canaanite religion
4.) Ancient Greek religion
5.) Roman religion
6.) Sumerian religion
7.) Assyro-Babylonian religion
8.) Gnostic sects
9.) Minoan religion
10.) Germanic paganism
11.) Celtic religion
12.) Chinese folk religion
13.) Pre-Hispanic Filipino religions

And some others. Yes, I’m a very evil person. 🤷
