For me, the question is kinda like “What is your favorite thing to breathe besides air?”
Oh, a mixture of Xenon and Oxygen is quite nice to breathe, as you can dive and swim in it at the same time.

To answer the OP: The Norse gods are by far the most worthy of worship. Followed by the Roman-Greek ones.

Sikhism. I have often been impressed by Sikhs I have met. Cheerful, friendly and hard working.

rossum
Agreed. I answered the original question more in terms of “what religion would I belong to if I weren’t a Christian.”

If I were to study another religion, it would be Judaism…for now I am stuck on Catholicism. I don’t have the time for anything else…there is too much information; )

(trying to up my # of posts, this is very hard for me) I am not a lurker…lol, I am a learner, really I am.

Almost everyday I am amazed at what I have learned from being on here

Please do not consider Mormonism----they consider the Trinity to be three DISTINCT beings—among other heresies. They believe God was at one time a MAN.:confused:
I never said that I was considering converting - just that I find it interesting. I already converted once in my life and that’s enough!

Personally though, I’d love to see a bout between Indra, Lei Gong, Zeus, Jupiter, Hadad (Ba’al), Ajisukitakahikone, Xolotl, and Thor. 😃

Well, according to the interpretatio Romana Thor is Jupiter (and Zeus btw).
That notion is retained in the weekdays’ names:
dies Iovis = Thursday
Jupiter’s day = Thor’s day

Hah! I refuse to accept interpretatio Romana or interpretatio Graeca or any such syncretism. For the record, *Dyēus Ph2tēr and *Perkwunos FTW. 😃

I might add that in my personal opinion, Vedic Indra is actually pretty cool and interesting, unlike his (admittedly) rather pale and rather limp shadow in later Hinduism. He was the slayer of Vṛtra, for pete’s sake! 😛

Just a small question for folks which answered Shintō (which includes me): exactly which form of Shintō are we talking about? Are we referring to actual prehistoric Japanese religion (before the arrival of Buddhism and Confucianism), Shinbutsu shūgō, (the very infamous) State Shintō, folk Shintō, Koshintō, or Sect Shintō?

Buddhism! But I like Norse, Greek and Egyptian Paganism, too. Always reconstructionist, not Wicca neither New Age!

And no this thread nothing to do with converting…
Mine would be Jewish. Although the Jewish faith is my faith, I don’t know enough of the O.T as I do the N.T.

My next course of study would be to study the Jewish faith more. Because the more I learn about hte Jewish faith the more I understand mine.😃

That fight would go to the Navajo Hero Twins. The older brother’s name is He Kills Hostile Gods. The younger brother, boringly, is Child of the Water.

How tough are they? Death himself had to talk his way out of them killing him, that’s how.

I’ve played a video game series (Shin Megami Tensei) where you can do something like that. I don’t think a lot of Catholics would like it very much though, so best to leave it to us godless folk. 😃

My vote will have to be for Thor, though, since he is a part of the pantheon I worship. It’s a loyalty thing.
