Saw this outside a local Burger King where I had breakfast this morning.

It’s been a long winter and the lilacs are just coming out.

Wow

I wish there was a rose that color.

One of my early childhood memories was being in a garden with light blue roses. There was a woman there with me who was like a mother figure but she wasn’t my mother.

I later learned this couldn’t have happened since no true blue roses exist.

Lysichiton americanus , pretty to look at , but not to smell , hence also known as Swamp Lantern, the Western Skunk Cabbage

The first day of June today , and for some of us in the northern hemisphere it’s the time for summer flowers like asters .

Guava flower

Have you ever tried tasting the petals c? If they don’t have ants on them they are sweet and tangy :).

No, not the flowers 🙂. Every so often, my dad would eat one of the guavas, and I remember him showing me how sweet they were. I guess because we were city kids, we were suspicious of most of the things growing around the house, and many of the ornamental plants were toxic, like the oleanders we used to have. Anyway, maybe I’ll taste one the flowers next time I’m over there 😁.

Never thought of it.

I remember climbing guava trees as a child.

I especially liked the strawberry guavas. They were about the same size as strawberries come to think of it.

I have some of these in my garden too.

This is going to sound strange, but I love baby’s breath- the little white flower they put as an accent in all the bouquets. They remind me of little fairies <3
