Moonflowers are so incredibly beautiful ,scented and they climb! Sadly I think they may be prohibited over here
I wonder if they are grown in England Rob?
I don’t think our climate would be friendly enough for them @Greenfields .

By the way , the BBC News has been broadcasting about some very hot weather in Australia . Are you effected by it ?

I live in Southern Victoria and am not too far from the sea and mountains ,so it doesn’t get too hot thanks Rob.We have temps in the mid and high 30’s this week and a day of 42c possibly.Looking at the beauro though it only actually reaches that hottest degree for a max of half an hour or so ,thermometer starts going down fairly quickly .
I feel for those up North who have it a lot hotter

Cacti are the only plants I’ve had some success with .

Inga and Werner Opitz had given up on their flowering cactus.

It hadn’t bloomed in 16 years.

“We were so upset,” said Inga, 89. “We were ready to throw it out.”

The north Everett couple bought the orchid cactus in 2000. It bloomed in 2002, giving them just one flower.

That bright-red flower was spectacular.

Then there were no more blooms for the better part of two decades.

“It had one bloom, and then nothing,” Inga said.

“We threatened to throw it out. We were sick of it standing there,” said Werner, 91.

But then there was a flower explosion.

These are not spectacular flowers, more like a weed, but I saw them growing in the sand at the beach yesterday. I was impressed by their tenacity, growing in such a harsh environment, and the bees liked them too.

If you look at the orchid family, you can see that God does have a sense of humor.

This is the Skeleton Flower. It is a white woodland blossom, whose petals become crystal clear once they make contact with water.

Very nice! Anything that has a scent of chocolate would be welcome in my garden 😃

Hoping there’s a little thunderstorm! 35C and climbing.
