St. Matthew 23:
Then Jesus spoke to the multitues and to his disciples, saying: The scribes and the Pharisees have sitten on the chair of Moses. All things therefore whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do: but according to their works do ye not. For they say, and do not." Not every example of our superiors are to be followed because it’s not in obedience to God.
St. John 18:
*Again *therefore *Peter *denied: and immediately the cock crew.
[Jesus said] “For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
WalkingHome, we can’t change some minds; all we can do now is pray that the Holy Ghost bestow the virtues of truth and humility to those who don’t realize that the Pope, like St. Peter, can make mistakes, and that his every example isn’t to be followed. To recognize who God is and who is not God. Jesus Christ Himself remained silent when speaking would fall on deaf and stubborn ears. We seem to be in the same boat. Pray for me please, I’ll pray for you, and we’ll pray for those who try to make us out to be enemies of the Church even while we defend Her. God Bless.
Lord, have mercy on the souls of all our popes. Holy Mother of God, pray for them. Pray for us all.
