Now a days–the fear of the Lord it seems–is going by the wayside. This may give light— to what at one time would have been improper deed–to now it being explained away — and condoned. Now—what has been turned around–is that some view it as wrong ----when another speaks up and expresses concern ---- about what is improper.

There are times when the public faults of prelates endanger the faith. In such cases it is certainly lawful for subjects to rebuke their superiors (which St. Paul did in Gal. II).
As a rule however, the advice given in the Dialogue of St. Catherine is best. Let us pray for our bishops and priests, and even for their conversion if need be.
Let us show charity and mildness whenever possible.
