As they say, the only stupid questions are the ones you don’t ask.I guess I have a really stupid question, if you go to confession and then repeat the same sin , do you keep going and repeating the confession till you get the problem solved? This sacrament was basically skipped over in RCIA. And in my parish , only 30 minutes prior to the Sat. Mass is alotted for confession. They dont make it easy for you to go often.
Yes, you should confess the same sin each time you commit it. At least if the sin in question is a mortal sin. If it is a venial sin you are not required to confess it at all but many people find it helpful to confess venial sins and the Church encourages us to confess them. I find that confessing venial sins gives me added strength to overcome them, especially if I know I will have to confess them again if I fail. It can be quite humbling to confess the same sins over and over again but that is part of the growth process.
As for your other question, most parishes also offer the Sacrament by appointment so your options shouldn’t be limited to a half hour a week. Ask your pastor about this.
