As the topic says. What time does fast end? Sundown? Midnight? Other?
According to Sacrosanctum concilium, the Paschal Fast should be kept through Holy Saturday when possible.Midnight to Midnight.

The topic asks about Good Friday…As the topic says. What time does fast end? Sundown? Midnight? Other?
…which ends at midnight.According to Sacrosanctum concilium, the Paschal Fast should be kept through Holy Saturday when possible.
Yes, because the Good Friday fast would be finished. It would technically be Holy Saturday.Would it be a sin for me to eat a meal past midnight to prevent from keeling over?
I think you mean “No”…???Johann du Toit;12869838:

I could have sworn the topic reads When does fast end on good Friday?, not **When does *the Paschal ***fast end-] on good Friday/-]?? I must get my glasses checked.
The topic is about the Paschal Fast,
The Church is indeed merciful. *Sacrosanctum Concilium does encourage keeping the fast through Holy Saturday where possible, but only a few years later the US bishops do not mention it at all in their Pastoral Statement On Penance And Abstinence.which begins on Friday and the Church has requested us to keep it through Saturday, which ends 48 hours later.
Granted, the Church is mercifully vague about what it means to keep the fast. I would take it in general terms to mean that on Saturday we would again be allowed one full meatless meal, with two smaller ones which together do not equal the main one.
You will have to ask the person who asked about *“keeling over” *Is that really so hard to keep without “keeling over”?
It would definitely be hard to keep if one is type1 diabetic such as myself however I do refrain from meat but substitute some ther protein. The priest at my Parish makes sure that I am eating enough on that day

Why would anyone keel over?? People with medical issues plus the young and old are exempt from fasting.Would it be a sin for me to eat a meal past midnight to prevent from keeling over?
