When does the Lenten fast end?

Good Fri is not a day when we can eat meat or eat between meals…I would like a Catholic answer please. I am not interested in guesses from protestants

***Lent officially ends on the Wednesday before Holy Thursday.

Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday constitute the Triduum, the three holiest days of the Church year after Easter.

All of the Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence. No meat is to be consumed on those days.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast (no eating between meals, one full meal and two smaller meals when combined equal another full meal) and abstinence from meat.

Actually, check your Missal if you own one (if you don’t you may want to rethink this forum).

The “40 Days” are calculated from the First Sunday in Lent through Holy Thursday.
Ash Wednesday, the Thursday after, Friday after and Saturday after are not counted in this 40.

This year it was easy. The First Sunday in Lent was 3/1 and Holy Thurday was 4/9.
31+9 = 40 for the non-fuzzy math users.

Lent is 40 days of fasting: Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday. Sundays and Holy Days are never days of penance.
