To me, the point where traditionalism crosses the line is when
first, send a letter to the Bishop, explain your concerns, and your evidence.
If you can prove error, and said error is not responded to by the bishop with evidence of indult or reform, take and report it to the Metropolitan Archbishop; if it’s the metropolitan Archbishop, then to the chair of the USCCB or other national synod.
Errors happen. If the oversight was unintended, it should be corrected by the Bishop when he becomes aware of it. If not… there is hierarchy for a reason.
In any case, be respectful.
- The person goes to a schismatic parish rather than find a Catholic parish still in union.
- The person avoids doing their sunday duty
- the person denies episcopal and/or papal authority (a dip into heresy, that)
- The person tries to convince others of the above.
