When God calls you to a life of seemingly unending pain

I had to dig this up again. I need prayers. Things are not going well. We are going to work On increasing hormones and see where we need to go from there. I’m still unable to do the littlest things it seems. It seems everything either causes me intense pain or exhausts me to the point I might sleep 16 hours or more the next day. SO frustrating. I feel like such a burden lately. My husband has been super supportive, but there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight yet. It’s been over three months since surgery, I shouldn’t be where I’m at. Ugh!

Thank you for coming back to us. I have not forgotten you.

I wish you had better news. Yet, this is a good week to pray. You are walking with Jesus. May you soon have the blessings of Easter.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Thank you everyone so much! :hug1:

Sigh It’s sure taking an emotional toll on me too. I lost my part-time Church job that I loved. Finances are way too tight now, we are incurring even more debt. The realization that we will never have children or grandchildren (can’t adopt due to finances and mental health issues) or grandkids is totally heartbreaking. We live to far away to enjoy our parents or nieces and nephews and most of them are getting to be teenage so we are running out of precious time with them. There are just no jobs where family lives in hub us field.

I guess I’m just throwing myself a pity-party. :o But it’s just so sad sometimes. And frustrating. I can’t figure what on earth this is supposed to be accomplishing in our lives. I’m trying to see it from a spiritual viewpoint but it’s just not registering. 🤷 Seems all the things I offer this suffering up for aren’t improving at all (like my hubby’s conversion.) If I could just see something getting better it might help put it all in perspective, but so far nothing tangible. :o

When we say that each stabbing pain is walking with Jesus, loving Jesus, it will be hard to see Easter morning. Yet, Easter exists. We walk with you, each in our own way. Easter is for all of us including your hubby in his own way. The fullness of Easter is ahead.

Maybe you need to give yourself more time. These days, it seems that it is almost unusual to even put a person in a hospital for surgery. If they do actually check you into the hospital, they want you to go home immediately, and then expect instantaneous healing!

I had a hysterectomy many years ago, and I still remember the pain whenever the car bounced during the ride home. I remember that I had to take narcotic pain pills.

Mine was uneventful because I was quite young, I got to keep my ovaries (which continued to work fine), so I never had to take hormones. Still, it was quite awhile before I could do any heavy lifting. I think it was actually 9 months to a year before I felt that I was completely over it.

I have heard that it is much more difficult when your ovaries are removed and you have to go on hormones.

Please be gentle with yourself, and don’t hesitate to ask your doctor for medication changes if yours aren’t helping like they should.
