Dear Conservative,
I too am in the midst of enduring the “impossible”. I have prayed for God’s help and intervention.I think He has answered my prayers, but not the way I would have wished for. I am entering into a situation that up til now I would have concidered impossible to endure. I prayed when I saw this situation developing, and even now that it is continuing and developing into what I would have called a worst case, God has not kept this away from me or apparently answered me in a way I can hear. I know that nothing happens that is not out of His will for me, and since this situation is happening,it must be His will. I am aready experiencing a kind of grace for enduring this, as I’ve rarely been faithful like this to Him under these kind of conditions in the past.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord!!
This mornings reading about how Our Lord suffered though He’d done no wrong, was a great help to me as an example. Of all people the one human being who had never deserved any punishment at all, suffered without complaint!! Now I on the other hand, am not in any way blamless, like the good thief, I deserve my punishment.I can only ask that God preserve me from despair and giving up. I ask for His strength to endure what He has for me and to be a good example to my family and wife. He has answered my prayer for strength, because I am not collapsing like I was afraid I might only a few weeks ago.

I hope this helps. One more thing I’ve noticed that in this time of trial, that praying praise and the different theophanies from scriptures really helps. It seems to drive the devil away and take my spiritual eyes off of myself and on Him who is my strength.

((((((Conservative))))))…I 'm not sure specifically (It’s been awhile since we’ve spoken)-what you are dealing with-but I don’t know if God ever says no…it’s just that His timeframe and ours are not always the same…the Serenity prayer works wonders for me-and a printed on wood saying my ((mother)) had posted in a place that she faced everyday when she awoke…Lord, nothing is going to happen to me today- that you and I together cannot handle…pretty much covers it all-it was the first thing she saw every morning for many years and gave her great comfort and peace in her heart…is this something with your (((dad)))?My prayers are with you ((honey))-and don’t be afraid to petition God with prayer-become a squeaky wheel- you don’t have to be angry- just persistent…Lord knows I bend His ear constantly when I’m trying to get His attention…👍 :gopray2:

(((hugs)))) honey…know you are loved and never alone…God Bless

Okay, so I’m going to yell at you in the most loving way:

What a crock of ****! If you can’t get angry with God, then who can you get angry with? When you get angry with people, you take the chance they might leave you, but God never will! What kind of a relationship do you have with God that you can’t get angry with him! Get f$%&ing real!

You won’t be able to handle s**t if you don’t get angry with God!

Is your faith that little that you are afraid to get angry??? You’re dealt a ****** blow and you can’t get angry with God?? C’mon, get real man!
My two cents worth. You damn right I get mad at God!!! He is the only one that can “fix” certain things. There is no way in HELL that some situations some hopes wishes dreams can be fixed without God’s devine private intervention. There are times that he has answered my prayers almost in realtime. There are other things that I feel he is giving me a screw you. Of course he isn’t just feels that way. But I have yelled at him told him that this is BS it ain’t fair. I tell God everyday that I hate adulthood which I do. Life was great wonderful then along comes adulthood my goodlife was ravaged from me. I feel that we should ask for big things we should expect it, after all having the faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains. But yes if it isn’t God’s will we need to accept it. There was a wish I had and I was on my knees BEGGING God for this miracle a dream job of dream jobs, I didn’t get it I was ANGRY!!! PISSED I got so mad I told God where he can stick it and was depressed for months. Then God in his way showed me that it was’t right and I realized that and thank him for not giving me that miracle after all I was so so so sorry that I told him to stick it but yes I was that angry with him. Of course it is normal to get mad at God. We are his kids kids get mad at their parents it is normal and I feel that God likes it sometimes, Means that you must know he exists!!! he hates lukewarm. A priest once asked me how is my prayer life. I told him firey!!! Father Corapi says pray for big things, and boy do I ever!! Just because I get angry with him doesn’t mean I don’t love him… For I do… but I won’t take no for an answer on a few things and I still won’t. Some of the greatest saints got pissed off at God and showed it. What great female Saint told God “no wonder why you don’t have many followers ,look how you treat your friends” or something like that. But if this person isn’t mad at God, God love him or her. This person may have the gift of longsuffering and patience and total acceptance of God’s will…

A few months back, I asked for prayers for an intention, which I knew would require a miracle - or at least slow development before the worst. Today, it seems things are getting worse, and tonight - I’m out of my mind. I’m not angry with God at all. But I don’t how to handle a situation which will (figuratively) cripple me the rest of my life. Please - some solid, not ethereal answers - how do you handle it - when God says “no”? Out of my mind tonight.
I do not know what is wrong in your life… and it isn’t my place to ask. I have had a nasty terrible three harrowing (SP?) months of hell thrown at me. I am very very lonely and very sad. But I talk to God just like I would talk to a friend. I tell him how I feel and yes sometimes I get angry with him and had one real bad drag em out fight with him. But sometimes talking to him as if he is right there in the room with you gives you peace and relief. I take one day at a time. I try to look at the good that I have in life. Talking to God as you would say for instance like a head doctor, It does as much good and you save yourself a few hundred per visit. Talk to people you can trust sometimes God talks through others. God told me that my Mother is going to make a full recovery. when I saw her in the hospital, the depths of hell I was in was unbearable. God said trust trust trust. I trusted in him and he gave her back to us. God may be testing your trust in him… I am not suggesting that you get MAD at him just trust… Scoob

Dear Conservative,

I’m sorry to hear things aren’t going well. What I do is to remember that God hears every prayer, and answers it according to what’s best for us.

Sometimes what’s best for us is to suffer. Suffering doesn’t make much sense unless we look at it in terms of our eternal destination.
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:11-13
While God’s answer to your prayer may seem like He doesn’t hear you, often it’s because He’s giving you something much better than what you asked for. It won’t be until we reach Heaven that we’ll learn how often He did this for us throughout our lives.

Why should one be mad at God ever? Sure we are humans with emotions, but that doesn’t mean we need to cave into them.

God has provided for eternity, remember that in this life and we shall never need to worry.

Matthew 6:25-34

Those verses always help me.
One time a priest visited me in the hospital after a medical crisis and asked me if I’d prayed. I said I hadn’t/couldn’t. He asked me if I were angry at what had happened. I told him I was. He said, “Well, tell God how you feel. He can handle it!” I did - I really let Him have it. All the blocks and barriers I’d had keeping me from Him were down. I could pray again!
Having been a parent of a young’n, I know that if my child is mad at me I’d much prefer she tell me (even if it seems disrespectful at first) how she felt and so we could converse and be real, than if she just gave me the “cold shoulder” quiet treatment or said what she’d been taught she should say even tho’ I know she doesn’t really mean it. My daughter did both while growing up and so I know from experience.
BTW, another thing that helps me when He says “No” is to read the 39th chapter of Job and also to read the Psalms that express the way I feel right then (later I can read the triumphant Psalms).
