When is a Christian organization Not Christian

After giving it even more thought after the Pat Robertson debacle, my list is growing in leaps and bounds. The thing I can not understand is how many people have fallen for the things I mentioned, thinking they were doing the will of God doing them. Or at least I hope they did think that’s what they were doing… they may have simply used God’s name as a front for their campains of hate and self serving agendas.

I agree. There are more things to list that can point to an organization not being Christian. I just liked the ones you listed.

Does anyone know if Catholics have ever actually asked for proof of income? They don’t where I live, I hope they don’t for anyone.

You realize what this is saying is that the Catholic church believes that Baptists like Charles Colson and Billy Graham as well as Assembly of God like myself are Not Christian and have committed Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Could you please document where the Catholic church teaches this.

If you can’t document this, I:have no choice but to believe you all are performing some private interpretation.

Did you know Billy Graham received an honorary doctorate from Catholic priests at Belmont Abbey College in 1967?

1966: “I find myself closer to Catholics than the radical Protestants. I think the Roman Catholic Church today is going through a second Reformation” (Evening Bulletin, Philadelphia, May 24, 1966).

“I found that my beliefs are essentially the same as those of orthodox Catholics we only differ on some matters of later church tradition. I find that my beliefs are essentially the same as those of orthodox Roman Catholics” (McCall’s, Jan. 1978).

A NOTE FROM BISHOP PAUL SEPARK, JR. There isn’t much I can add other than it is quite apparent that Billy Graham has quite a bit in common with the Roman Catholic Church. I guess it is pretty fair to say that Graham is a closet Catholic and certainly a major Catholic apologist pushing for the unity of the Protestantism and Catholicism.

On 4/21/72, Graham received the Catholic International Franciscan Award for “his contribution to true ecumenism” and “his sincere and authentic ecumenism.”

“I fully adhere to the fundamental tenets of the Christian faith for myself… but as an American, I respect other paths to God,” (Billy Graham, Parade Magazine, Oct 20th 1996).

In his interview with Robert Schuller in May 1997, Graham again said that he believes people in other religions can be saved without consciously believing in Jesus Christ.

He’s calling people out of the world for His name, WHETHER THEY COME FROM THE MUSLIM WORLD, OR THE BUDDHIST WORLD, OR THE CHRISTIAN WORLD OR THE NON-BELIEVING WORLD, THEY ARE MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST BECAUSE THEY’VE BEEN CALLED BY GOD. THEY MAY NOT EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF JESUS but they know in their hearts that they need something that they don’t have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I think that they are saved, and that they’re going to be with us in heaven.

Afraid I agree with this. My grandmother is SB, and boy oh boy has she used some of his sermons against the Catholic faith. We don’t talk about religion anymore though, as I know more about how to combat the crazy talk, and she just tells me to shut up! LOL

As I understand it, the Catholic Church teaches that all are saved through the Church. That doesn’t mean that those who are members of other churches are not saved. They are saved through (by means of) the Church that Jesus founded (Catholic). If they are Baptist, for instance, and serve the Lord in the best way they understand Him, they will be saved. So this is a little different than saying that all non-Catholics are bound for Hell.

You are not accusing me of stating all non-Catholics are going to Hell, right? I just want to know so there is no misunderstanding. Because I don’t believe that. If I believed that then half my family would be going to Hell. Including my mother, God rest her soul.

The end of your post was the “loop-hole” that I was referring to in the Catholic catechism. If one is ignorant of the truth through no fault of their own but serve the Lord the best way they can, they may be saved. Though that is not guaranteed. Only God knows the ultimate outcome.
