This is sad to see how some Catholics use social media to attack, insult others…
Yes, it is. In the case of Lizzie Answers, she’s a new convert and has experienced an onslaught of ugly criticism from traditionalists (many of whom I follow and often support). They pick at her about debatable issues that even lifelong Catholics are struggling with, like how to read Amoris Laetitia or whether the Divine Mercy devotion is acceptable or what modesty means in practice. It’s absolutely sickening. Catholic Twitter is a cesspool quite often. This is sad to see how some Catholics use social media to attack, insult others…
Yeah it’s quite curious. I always thought that pre-social media internet (such as message boards and forums) was toxic because there was the element of anonymity. People said what they wanted because there were no repercussions. There is honestly something about social media that brings out the worst in people - perhaps it’s the fact that you can’t see/hear body language plus voice & facial expressions?
Mine too.Her voice gets on my nerves so I haven’t watched one
I think it is that way by design. There are some very interesting videos on this and how the format of social media is actually designed for people to be nasty and have arguments. There is honestly something about social media that brings out the worst in people
When I was in college back in 1996, a classmate predicted that the Internet was the “beast” that would usher in the anti-Christ.I think it is that way be design. I think it’s the rad trads, in this case, who are (surprise!) supposed to be the radicals.“When radicals take social media over…”
So, what is Lizzie? What’s a radical?
