Maybe it will fulfill one of the prophesies of Our Lady of La Salette: “A great country, now Protestant, in the north of Europe, will be converted; by the support of this country all the other nations of the world will be converted”

Wishful thinking 🙂
Wow. That would be great and has given me hope haha. I’ve already asked God to use the Papal visit to convert people.

I’m going to the Mass at Hyde Park and I’m not looking forward to it as I was. There are many anti-Catholics in England and there will be protesting. There will also probably be a lot of anti-Catholic statements in the media that week and a commotion when entering the park.

It would be so great if God could perform a miracle and make everything run peacefully. Maybe He could even perform a miracle that converts millions :).
Try not to let the protest groups spoil your day.

I will also be attending the Hyde Park Vigil. Praying for good weather but, England being England…do not forget your brolly and a cardigan 🙂 Did you manage to get a copy of the Magnificat’s Liturgies and Events of the Papal Visit?

The forecast will be sunny, everyone will wear light clothing and there will be a downpour! I did get a copy thank you 😃 We’ve been to another parish the last couple of weeks so haven’t received our packs yet though. Maybe amongst the 700,000 people we will brush shoulders with each other.

I’ll be going to the Hyde Park prayer vigil. Really looking forward to welcoming this Pope B 😃

Unfortunately there is a growing trend of anti-catholic legislation and a deep hostility towards Christianity but in particular Catholicism in the UK. Not much of it from the Protestants but most of it from exponents of the Dictatorship of Relativism and certain sections of the media. I would say 90% of the population don’t want him here but we’re in a desperately dark age and the real war on God’s people is beginning to unfold.

Pray for us here in the UK

We have not received our packs as well. Our Pilgrim Leader intends to distribute those at a Parish meeting next week.

I must remember to pack a pair of wellies. 😃

How wonderful to know you will be there as well!!!

I agree with you about the media. “Pope in the Dock” made headlines but, the Israeli President’s visit with the Holy Father did not. The event clearly goes against claims that the status of the Vatican state is bogus. catholicherald.co.uk/news/2010/09/03/pope-meets-israeli-president/

I think it will be a defining opportunity, for Catholics & Protestants to unite as One Church,One Force;with the impending Islamification of Europe.

👍 It’s great to know there are other Catholics here in the UK swimming against the tide and welcoming this Man of Hope to these shores. 🙂

Did you get yours yet? Ours came in the post. I’m quite disappointed in the lack of freebies 😛

Im sure itll be about the same as usual. Most wont care and a few loud mouths will make fools of themselves.

Personally I just envy my European brothers and sister who get to witness this momentous event. God bless em all.
I agree with your synopsis. I was lucky enough to see pope John Paul II “The Great” in 1999 in St. Louis. I was a volunteer and still have my umbrella and tunic, which were given to us afterwards as a gift.

I recall that when Queen Elizabeth met with Pope John Paul in the late 1990’s or thereabouts, when other members of the royal family were involved in various scandals, Jay Leno quipped in his monologue that “she’s probably the only member of the royal family who doesn’t need to go to confession.”

I pray all hearts will be open. The UK needs conversion!

+Jesus, Mary, I love You! Save Souls!
