Where are the Bible verses to back up baby sprinkling?

I know your love of our Lord runs deep and it is from this passion that you respond.

I humbly accept your admonishments, for I know that you have most likely gladdened the hearts of His Poor today, and made Our Lord smile, while I know that I have done less than what I was called to do.

I meant no sarcasm whatsover, but the fact that you perceived such makes me aware that I will strive to be more clear of my intent in my posts.

WHO does THAT? Certainly not the Catholic Church. I’ve been a Catholic Christian for over 50 years and have attended more baptisms than I care to remember. Never once has any baby been ‘sprinkled’. Oh, that’s a good one!

I think its Protestants who use sprinkling Methodists, Presbyterians, Congregregationals.

You know, the Samuel verse is quite appropriate. Maybe it would be a prudent idea to give us a little less attitude with your outward appearances.

I really have no new comments: you have received the in nunerous posts that multiple baptisms is not in accordance with the teaching of the Catholic Church, you claim to be following Christ… but, you are carrying a chip on your shoulder so big it is a wonder you can make it to your keyboard! I am confident that if you were simply to approach this subject with a humble and contrite heart - instead of accusing others of not being open minded - you would actually hear something besides the sound of your own voice.

Pro.13:3 He who guards his lips guards his soul.I never said that multiple baptisms was in accordance with the CC. I just stated what happened to me. And your mouth seems pretty big. I never asked anyone to be open minded. Just was sharing my journey with Christ. Sorry that you find it offensive. Maybe your heart condition needs to be worked on too.

Seriously, you are making one contradiction after another. You have been boasting of your multiple baptisms - and you know this is contrary to the teaching of the Church. If you think this is what has lead you to Christ - and you respond as you have when told of the teachings of the Chruch, then I submit to you that it does not appear as if the Spirit of Christ is within you. And, yes, I am being serious. Christ did not lash out at others - but, you find it acceptable. Christ did not claim to teach and lead in ministry and yet be found out to be in error. This content of what you say you do and what you write simply does not hold together.

Take it as you will. But, if you are teaching anyone anything about the Cathoic Church and its doctrines, beliefs, practices and history - I would advise you to submit your material to the authority having jurisdiction where you are doing this work. You simply can not be doctrinally in error on this list and doctrinally correct when you speak to others. And, this is a truthful statement no matter how you feel what you are doing is ‘OK’.

You can judge for youself - continue to go and not get guidance from appropriate Church authority when others are calling you on what you are doing is wrong. Submitting what you are doing - and saying on this list - to proper authority will open up a channel to the Grace of God. Remember, you are not submitting anything to the membes of this list - it is the authority in your parish.

I wasn’t boasting of my second Baptism, only trying to explain how I came back to the church. If you are so judgemental then I guess you are in the Spirit.:bigyikes:

I do not teach anything contary about the CC doctrine. I teach about prayer and what a ministery is. My lessons are approve by our Priest.

You are more then welcome. Your life experiences are your own personal history - and that can not be changed. Just like St. Paul had the persecution of the Church as part of his personal history. The issue, however, is that Paul did not encourage others to persecute the Church to follow Christ more closely. Your presentations of multiple baptisms seemed to be encouraging others to do this - and, as you know, there is only one valid baptism.

There have been many who have tried in varous ways to show you how you the various errors you have presented on this list. If you write error here, yet claim to have your material approved by your local priest, don’t you see a disconnect between these two actions? You are presenting a major conflict to others - and then you fuss and fume at those who take the time to admonish you in fraternal correction.

You seem have the misguided belief that only the pefect can correct - and since no one is perfect, then no one can correct. At least, you will allow no one to correct your written errors without bumping into your quills. This behavior of yours alone should tip you off that this is not of Christ. And, that is the name of that tune.

Do as you please from this point on I have nothing further to say.

The imperative is the fact that Jewish babies were circumcised on the 8th day by the command of God and since Paul & Peter both compare baptism to circumcision, that we see the type and example. If God commanded that babies be brought into the faith in the OT, why would that logical and family oriented practice cease with the coming of the Messiah? ALL Christianity is about family…that’s about as NT as it gets.

If you think that one has to make a profession of faith to enter the Kingdom of God, but then don’t believe that baptism is crucial for salvation, there is something scripturally wrong with your belief…yet the NT is almost adamant about that.

Tweetymom…Hang in there. It seems whenever someone says something that is not agreed with by some of the “long time members”, no matter how you try to say it or how kind you are (and you are kind) or how upset you get, you are confussed, ignorant, a slobberinng idiot or something along that line. The love of Christ is the MOST important of all the fruits or vertues…We will keep on keeping on untill the Lord comes. I don’t care what someone calls themselves, Catholic, Protestant, Pentocostal, etc…when we reach the Beama Seat or the White Throne Judgement, you can bet one thing, we will NOT be ask any of those questions, and we will stand there alone face to face with Christ, and be judged not for the church we went to but if Jesus was our Saviour, NOTHING else will matter, and if others do not belive that, the fault will lay at their door. God bless you Tweetymom. I don’t care where you whorship, its the heart that we are judged by.
