I doubt I would set up a forum. My main rule would be no dirty language and nothing that would liable any member. Other than that anything would be allowed.
Tis_Bearself Hello, I might be interested in the St. Isidore’s Lounge. But I see no option how to send a PM here. (I thought there would be a link/button on the profile page, or “new message” option in my messages folder.) Please can you advise how to contact you? Thank you.
I’m on Ave Maria under this name, had just joined before hearing the news about CAF. Also on Catholic Community Forums and want to try a couple others. I miss being more active on Catholic and other forums but life has been busier than I expected the last few years.
I’m also on Reddit under another name but haven’t been on the Catholicism subreddit exclusively. On Reddit you can have “throwaway” accounts for when you don’t want to post a sensitive topic under your main account.
I used to be active on CAF back in 2011-2013. I miss the old forum After it was changed to its current form, I stopped coming here. It’s a pity it was changed.
Go into your own profile page, click on the person icon and then summary. From there you can select messages, then the New Message button is available.
Type in @Tis_Bearself and type your request and send. You are able to send a PM to anyone this way, even if their profile is hidden.
”Although the Holy See has granted to all priest members of the society the faculty to give sacramental absolution validly to those who attend its churches and has authorised local ordinaries to grant permission for celebrating marriages of followers of the society (see sections on faculties below), the Holy See has declared in a letter to the society dated 26 June 2017 and approved by Pope Francis on 20 May 2017 that full re-establishment of communion is conditional on its members making the 1998 profession of faith, accepting explicitly, with the degree of adhesion due to them, the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and subsequent church teachings, and recognising not only the validity but also the legitimacy of the rite of Mass and the other sacraments celebrated according to the liturgical books promulgated after that council.”
That doesn’t sound to me like they’re in full communion.
I let my old account lapse, and didn’t make a new one on this format for awhile. Even then I didn’t like using this Discourse platform so I didn’t post much. I was going to try to get used to it and so I logged in and saw the whole shebang is going away! Oh well!
