Yea, thank you. I am aware of the Scripture.
I am looking more along the lines of a historical and traditional context.
Such as early liturgies and beliefs with some archaeological substantiation.
Not for myself, but to help those of a sola scripturist mindset.
I am aware of one early liturgy but see a gap between the tradition, when scripture was written and other recorded records and then of course transubstantiation wasn’t defined officially until the council of the 12th century for example.
I am trying to assemble a time line of the Mass up to such times as where it first became called the Mass in Rome which I have read a few times and should be able to find again but also why the words are deemed to be so crucial in an irenic and succinct way and then on to the divergence between East and West up into the present day. Maybe I need a good book that already has this all layed out but don’t know of any.
Maybe I am bitting off more than I can chew.
I know I am definitely over my head.
Thanks again.
Peace and God bless,
Joab.
