Where do you suppose heaven is located?

To see something you have to be looking at it, or for it. I have a notion that those who dwell in Heaven and Purgatory have other concerns besides what 1 in 6 billion of us is doing at any one time.

I think if you think about them or pray for/to them, they perceive it, according to their spiritual state. People in Purgatory get the benefit of our prayers. Sometimes people see loved ones if they’re preoccupied about them or if their loved ones have a warning or message for them.

I have a friend who’s claimed to be psychic. I mentioned to her what I’d read|:** That the problem with looking at the ‘other world’ is that it then can look back at you; it’s denizens know you can see them.** She agreed with me. Hence the problem with meddling with the occult; I’ve read it’s like sending up a flare attracting who-knows-what.

Ordinary folks going about their daily lives are not going to see ghosts because they’re not looking for them; they’re not ‘attuned’ to them. I’d guess we also have psychic shielding and our Guardian Angel to keep pests at bay. I’d also guess that spiritually-well people have a natural immunity to spiritual attack, the same way physically-well people fight off viruses, and the reverse.

Heaven is experiencing God “face to face” — whatever that means.

One of you thinks that we are surrounded by the citizens of heaven right now.
If that were the case they may hear and see what we do and say.That is an unsettling thought.Say it is a deceased family member in heaven.What if we say something true but unflattering about them.How about a deceased parent watching us make mistakes.
How do you like the idea of people watching you even when you are alone.?
No privacy.Even your thoughts may be up there.One more reason to be always as perfect and just as you can.

If the saints in heaven could not hear us, there would be no point in us praying to them and the Church does encourage us to pray to the saints. I refer you to Luke 15:7-10 where Jesus tells us that there is much joy in heaven over the repentance of a sinner – indicating that the saints and angels are aware of our actions … which would include our words. There is no reference in scripture to indicate that they would be aware of our thoughts. That appears to be reserved for God alone.

There’s three heavens. The first is the sky. The second is space. The third is where God dwells. We know this from the first chapter of Genesis and from Paul telling us that he knew a man who was caught up to the third heaven.

A day is coming when we will have a new heaven and a new earth.

After seeing movies about Jesus’ life during Christmas , on tv.,the question came to me.Jesus is portrayed raising his eyes up when talking to the Father.Yet,with all the trips into space and the skies above there is no sign of a Heaven there. I tend to think it would be located in other dimension.What does the Catholic Church teach about that?

Also remember that Jesus had the ability to enter a room physically seen and unseen. He had a resurrected body which is the type of body we will have in Heaven. I believe that Heaven is all around us, just as Jesus said. The fact, is, because we are not a resurrected specie, we cannot perceive its existence. I believe there is another reality that encompasses the breadth and depth of the entire physical universe, and that reality is called Heaven. It is the reality where God resides. If you want to call it another ‘dimension’ you could, of course. But it’s right here all around us, yet we cannot perceive it because of our sinfulness and fallen nature.
