Where does a single man meet a good, single woman?

It doesn’t hurt to try, right? Worst case scenario, you’ll have some opportunities to work on some social skills both online and in person. Best case scenario, you meet the woman of your dreams. I’m seeing this as a win-win situation, myself…
That’s the bottom line. If you want to achieve different results, you have to be willing to put yourself out there and try different approaches – even if you aren’t initially comfortable or don’t see the value of a particular approach. At worst, you learn some valuable lessons (and probably end up with a few amusing stories to share :p).

In fact, just to be careful, consult a female friend or relative before wearing any head covering.
I don’t think I could date a woman who objected to me wearing my Seahawks hat 🙂

AHA! See! that’s a funny, inoffensive opener…

“Any SeaHawks fans out there”?

Say that in a dating site chat room and see what drops in!

I don’t know what’s more hilarious in this thread, the generalizations about women perpetrated, or the tales of grandeur.

The most attractive men are the ones who don’t think they are all that and a bag of chips. .
Very True

Well i certainly dont think Im all that. It is certainly a reality that I am chased by such women at work, which constitutes for me a great temptation and trial. Its just sad that they are so beautiful, but none are wife material or even single.
Why not look about you at church. Do volunteer work in a field you love or enjoy. Try meetup.com it’s a site of clubs and also has volunteer groups. In my area there are groups for singles and some groups just for hiking, dancing, parties, movies. Some are just for singles some or not. Heck you could even start you own group. I organize in a couple of the groups and it’s very easy. Good luck.

Funny story, that: I’m about 5’8", but my wife is actually one inch taller than me! Even though we met here, and not in a dating site, it’s probably still amusing that when she PM’d me that first time she was annoyed, asking me if I’d turn her down for being taller than me, because I’d mentioned I wanted a woman who was shorter than me (I explained to her that I would give a taller woman a chance if we really clicked, it’s just that I felt I would feel short, and obviously I gave her that chance! :D). So at least there are some women out there that evidently will not only date a short guy, nor for that matter are they only willing to date a guy shorter than they are, but be interested enough to protest if they thought a shorter guy wouldn’t date them! 😛

But then, I’m perfectly willing to believe I just got myself one special gal! 😉

Blessings in Christ,

Yes, we are out there. The love of my life was shorter than I - made no difference to me.

Many years ago, while we were on vacation, we saw a newly wed couple.

He was about 5’ 5". She was at least 6 foot.

I don’t know how they met, but they seemed very much in love.

Depending on where you live, catholic charities is a great social organization in a lot of big cities. Also, parish groups, volunteer organizations, etc.

I know you are opposed to online dating, but it worked for me finding someone. I was able to show the importance of my faith and my volunteer work upfront. I’m sure a lot of guys weren’t interested, but it made the whole putting-all-my-beliefs-on-the-table thing easier than in prior dating experiences. I’ve learned that in a big metropolitan city like where I live, a good girl with practically no dating history and strong religious convictions makes a lot of men uninterested…but online made me find the one man in a hundred (million?) who was!

Best of luck! God bless!

You need to be clear on what is a “good, single woman” so you know how to spot one. For example, your criteria may include a woman who doesn’t agree with divorce. But will she change her mind later? There’s ways to tell: are her parents divorced? her siblings? her friends? Does she want many children? Will she put them in daycare? What does she think of Natural Family Planning (NFP) as opposed to birth control?

There are sociologists that have studied determinants of successful long-term marriages using statistical data (as opposed to posts that will follow mine saying ‘I know an example that proves you wrong.’) You’re on the right track to find a woman with the same faith as yours. I heard one statistic that a Catholic marriages practicing NFP have over 99% success rates (but I haven’t found the source).

But your question was ‘where to find one’, which is good, but I sense you really meant where off-line, or where in-person. Also consider the questions ‘when in my life’ or ‘with who do I meet one’. I also have to ask ‘Are you approaching women?’ ‘are you making opportunities for yourself to meet them?’ Good luck.

Don’t think caps are a total downer. A friend wears caps all the time, everywhere. Yet he met someone and got married. His best man joked during his speech that this might be the first time anyone outside his immediate family had seen him without his cap … got a good laugh.

Anyway, I repeat my suggestions of partner dancing and meetup.com. Also be prepared to try different approaches, locations, etc. If nothing else, there’s the opportunity to work on your social skills.

btw, where’s my bag of chips? just made me some guacamole with minced jalapeno, need something to leaven that with …
