Where in the Bible is lesbianism prohibited?
**1 Corinthians 6:9-10 **Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.Where in the Bible is lesbianism prohibited?
since lesbian acts were not frowned upon in either ancient Egypt or ancient Canaan. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein you dwelled, shall you not do; and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall you not do; neither shall you walk in their statutes
God created Adam and Eve to be together.Where in the Bible is lesbianism prohibited?
Nowhere. You have to look to outside sources (for Jews, the Talmud and for Catholics, I’m sure its somewhere).Where in the Bible is lesbianism prohibited?
But lesbianism would not be viewed as sex would it?I also thought it was inferred in regards to sex only within a marriage, and a marriage only between a man and a woman

Considering some of the various ‘devices’ they use to arouse each other into an orgasmic climax, it’s as close to the real deal as they’re gonna get. It’s not God’s definition of sex, nor is it part of the natural law, but for all intents and purposes, they certainly believe it’s real sex. They even believe it’s an expression of their love for each other. But lesbianism would not be viewed as sex would it?
Matthew 5:28But lesbianism would not be viewed as sex would it?
NOTE: The New American Bible (approved by the Catholic bishops) do not use the words “male prostites nor homosexual offenders” here. The translation you have cited is outdated. See the editor’s footnote: “The Greek word translated as boy prostitutes may refer to catamites, i.e., boys or young men who were kept for purposes of prostitution, a practice not uncommon in the Greco-Roman world. In Greek mythology this was the function of Ganymede, the “cupbearer of the gods,” whose Latin name was Catamitus. The term translated Sodomites refers to adult males who indulged in homosexual practices with such boys. See similar condemnations of such practices in Romans 1:26-27; 1 Tim 1:10.”1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Wouldn’t this come under sex outside marriage? There’s nothing specific about a woman have sex with an animal, but I’m pretty sure the Jews would have read it as being covered by Leviticus 18 tooIt’s interesting to point out that female homosexuality is not explicitly condemned in the Old Testament.
Precisely - sex before or outside marriage are both frowned upon. Since two women cannot marry, then presumably lesbianism is covered either by one or other definition.Wouldn’t this come under sex outside marriage? I must have a more broad definition of sex then you.But lesbianism would not be viewed as sex would it?
Biblically, sex would be the act of procreation.I must have a more broad definition of sex then you.
To be blunt, Oral sex would not be sex? Can you show me where in the bible it states that only intercourse is sex? I am not asking to argue because I am honestly curious now.Biblically, sex would be the act of procreation.
That’s why even though bestiality is never specifically condemned by Jesus, we accept that He would have done so through His speaking on other aspects of sex/sexual desires in/out of marriage.Precisely - sex before or outside marriage are both frowned upon. I think what I may have been trying to say is that the act that is prohibition in Leviticus regarding male homsexuality is based on the attempt by two men to have sexual intercourse. The languge states that a man shall not be with a man as he would a women, or something like that. Don’t have the verse handy. But I recall reading howthis might have been a prohibiton based on the fact that: a. it was believed the man’s seed was responsible for creation and that sex between two men was an attempt to engage in creation without women; or b. that male prostitution was part of pagan temple rituals at the time and homosexual acts were then seen as a form of idolatry. To be blunt, Oral sex would not be sex?
