Since all the major TV and media outlets were in DC for the inagural, there should be plenty of coverage right? 😉

Hmm…its not here, here, or here.

I sense a cover-up.

Yep…same thing here in St. Lou this morning…nothing in the St. Louis Post-Disgrace.

My son’s 8th grade class is there though…marching for life.

Here’s the Catholic news that the St. Louis Post-Disgrace has in the paper this morning:

**Off the Menu: St. Raymond’s not serving lunch until Feb. 4. **

The mainstream media has largely ignored it, but as always EWTN is there and broadcasting it live. Don’t know if you get EWTN or not, but you can always go online to their website and watch the streaming video.

Justin Cardinal Regali, Archbishop of Philadelphia just stepped to the podium, FYI.

Really? I am just shocked, shocked I tell you. 🤷 You’d think they would figure out that ignoring a major event like this really undermines their credibility on other subjects.

EWTN has great coverage! I can’t get streaming video at work but will watch the re-broadcast tonight.

National Public Radio featured it during prime drive time today. Marchers were interviewed and discussion was OK.

I don’t live in the St. Louis area, so I don’t know what appeared in the paper, but here is the Post-Dispatch’s article about the march, which appeared on their website.
About 2,000 people from Missouri and Metro East gathered in Washington this morning for a day of protests and prayer to observe the 36th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion.
Two days after massive crowds on the National Mall for the inauguration of Barack Obama, new streams of buses arrived in D.C. – 40 from Missouri alone – disgorging people young and old for a march and rallies on the Mall and in front of the Supreme Court.
The annual gathering had a more urgent air this time around with the pro-choice Obama having replaced an ardent anti-abortion president and Democrats in firm control of both the Senate and House.

It may not show television coverage, but Google News shows more than 700 articles about the march.

I just received word via e-mail from someone in DC that a bus from a local St. Louis parish (I have the name, but I will not post it until I can confirm info so as not to worry anyone needlessly) was hit by a semi truck. Info indicates that the driver and several passengers are in serious condition. This is the only info I have. Let’s all pray for God’s comfort and healing for all involved in whatever may have actually happened.

Yeah…the Post put that article up in the afternoon…but now, just a little later in the afternoon, when I revisited the site, guess what?

That’s right…gone already!

Oh, but the Post-Disgrace has this:

**Hollywood types compare Obama to Jesus **

Guess what? The article is still there.

And the Post-Dispatch website is carrying the AP coverage of the march:
Tens of thousands of abortion opponents rallied Thursday on the National Mall to mark the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade amid concerns they could face political setbacks under the new president.
The rally and subsequent march to the Supreme Court came two days after the swearing-in of President Barack Obama, which many at the rally said emphasized their need to become more vocal with their message.
Among those attending the rally was Kirk Kramer of Cottage City, Md., who held up a sign reading: “The Audacity Of Hope: No More Roe.”

The March For Life has not really received any significant coverage for some years. It basically has gotten to be an event of little note to much of the media as the regularity and longstanding practice of its occurance has been essentially deemed “nothing new” (or newsworthy.)

I find it a tad frustrating that this is the case. (It used to at least get shown on C-Span up till about ten years or so ago.) But I can also sort of understand the situation. At least EWTN provides a sort of wall to wall for anyone who wants to follow along more closely.

I received a little more info and the news is good, thank God. Turns out the accident was not that serious, the bus was clipped by the semi. All got on another bus and continued on to the March for Life.

I posted on this thread my first hand account. The march for life was awesome and I could not find any info in either Chicago paper I scoured for news. Their Cardinal was there for a special prolife vigil mass, but they don’t seem to even care in Chicago (all Obama news 24-7).

Read my impressions of the march for life in this thread.forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=304031

I saw stories posted on the MSNBC (gasp!) and Fox News websites, and a number of stories came up when googled, most of them quite fair. My husband is a TV news anchor at a local station and saw to it that there was good coverage of the 90 students from our Catholic H.S. who were there 😉

I love seeing young faces and faces of members of minority groups; the more we can do to quash the notion that only “little old (white) ladies in tennis shoes” are pro-life, the better. I love that there is now a sort of “pro-life boot camp” for college students; one of the young ladies from Steubenville spoke of this on EWTN.

Nellie Gray is a saint, but perhaps she could become “emeritus” as it is time that savvy, smart, fearless young people of all colors become the face of this march, and of the movement.

My family and I were there. 😃 The YOUTH RALLY & MASS was held at the Verizon Center and it was in overflow. The center holds 20,000 plus what the floor can hold. The estimate was around 30,000 total at the rally.

The estimate for the march was over 300 thousand. For someone like myself that has a hard time in crowded spaces it was a challenge. I offered it up to the Lord.
