Where is Catholicism in the Bible?

Your point is well taken, but my only sources other than the bible are sources of recorded world history, not other peoples writing of scripture and doctrine, with doctrine being the key word, because doctrine is the reason for this forum and I have stated that I think the Bible is the only true doctrine. Catholic History is just a source I use because people insist on talking to me about it, so I had to use, so it is not my fault.
The Catholic Church gave us the Bible in the Council of Rome (382 A.D), Council of Hippo (392 AD), and Council of Carthage 396 A.D). The Bible which contain both OT and NT.

Before that, there was no list or table of context of the Bible. There were many books at the time that were used like Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Judas, these books were not added in the Canon of Scripture.

Historical records show that the original Church is Catholic. St. Ignatius of Antioch called Jesus Christ’s Church Catholic by stating the following in the year 107-110 A.D.

**You must all follow the lead of the bishop, as Jesus Christ followed that of the Father; follow the presbytery as you would the Apostles; reverence the deacons as you would God’s commandment. Let no one do anything touching the Church, apart from the bishop. Let that celebration of the Eucharist be considered valid which is held under the bishop or anyone to whom he has committed it. Where the bishop appears, there let the people be, just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not permitted without authorization from the bishop either to baptize or to hold an agape; but whatever he approves is also pleasing to God. Thus everything you do will be proof against danger and valid. **

Where is ‘catholic’ mentioned in the bible?

Everywhere!!!

You cannot use the scripures against her whose scriptures they are 👍

Where is ‘protestant’? 😉
In apologetics the point is to quote scripture to prove your statement. Where is the scipture?

Actually, the point of Apologetics is to show evidence for our beliefs. It’s not restricted to Scripture. In fact, Justin Martyr, who first invented the art of Christian Apologetics, lived and died before there was ever such a thing as the Bible. He used historical evidence and oral Christian tradition (some of which was later included in the Bible) to defend his beliefs.

Even assuming the NT is correct, the deposit of faith is necessary to ensure that we understand it properly (witness the thousands of non-catholic denominations who claim to follow the Bible, but have contradicting teachings). Frank Sheed explains this quite nicely in his book, Theology for Beginners:
The Bible is only confusing to this guy, but not me. The Bible
is confusing to those who are not saved.
17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Ephesians 4:17

I don’t know why you are telling me about the Protestants. I told you I’m not a protestant. Just because you say i’m a protestant doesn’t mean i am one.
If you are a Christian who is not Orthodox or Catholic, you are a Protestant. Those are the 3 types of Christians.

From what I’ve seen on television, a hail mary is a hand motion that is repeated that is in the design of a cross.
I think you might be thinking of the Sign of the Cross. The Sign of the Cross has nothing to do with the Hail Mary. These are two different prayers.
Mary was not crucified on the cross. Jesus was.
We know that. Mary was standing before the Cross, weeping. Jesus said to the beloved disciple, “Behold, your mother.” Thus, Mary became the mother of the disciples (aka Christians).

Scripture tells us that not everything that Jesus did and said was written down but Jesus commands us to observe all that He has taught. Therefore, some of His teachings must lay outside of scripture. That is basic logic. And those teachings are not any less valid than those that were written down for Christ tells us to obey all of His teaching.

The word “apologetics” is derived from the ancient Greek word apologia, which means, an apology. Not an apology in the modern sense of the word - which is to say you’re sorry for something. But rather, an apology in the ancient sense of the word - which is to make a reasoned defense of something or someone. In ancient times, the word apology referred to the case a lawyer would make on behalf of his client.

Apologetics is about building the case for our Faith…learning how to explain and defend our Faith. Basically, there are 3 types of apologetics: natural apologetics, Christian apologetics, and Catholic apologetics. Natural apologetics builds the case for truths we can know from the “natural” light of reason. Truths that can be known without any divine intervention. Truths which the articles of our Faith rest upon and build upon. Truths such as the existence of God, the innate spirituality of the human soul, the objective reality of right and wrong…truths that our faith rest upon and build upon.

You have already admitted that you didn’t know that the word “Bishop” was in the Bible. How is it so “easy to understand,” if you can make a mistake like that?

And if you could make that mistake, isn’t it even remotely possible that you might have made other mistakes, too?

In what way, form or fashion can you interpret the bible? You are not a scholar. It appears to me that you have your own opinions based on nothing. Nowhere does it say in the bible that it is the only source. Your arguments I’m sorry to say are based on pure ignorance.

Allan1972:
if it’s not in the bible, its false doctrine
That doctrine is so wrong. The word Trinity is not even in the Bible. If you were take that rule, “If its not in the Bible, its a false doctrine” seriously, you deny that God is the Three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three Persons but ONE God.

The bible SPECIFICALLY says that there are things that Jesus did & said which are NOT contained within it’s pages yet Jesus tells us to do ALL that He commanded.

Therefore, it stands to reason that if you follow only what is found in the bible, you will NOT be doing all that Jesus commanded and therefore being disobedient to His teachings by failing to do ALL that He commanded.
I’d rather play it safe and just rely on the Bible instead of being decieved by other doctrine. Other Catholic sources conflict with the bible.

Is this source you claim that conflict with the Bible happened to be written by Loraine Boettner’s work, Roman Catholicism?

That books has a lot of misinform misceptions of the Catholic Church.

Yeah, right, that’t why there are 30,000 denominations who all claim to follow the Bible can’t agree on what the Bible teaches.

Think about this: the word Bible is not mentioned in the Bible, does that make it a false doctrine? The word incarnation is not mentioned in the Bible, does that make it a false doctrine? The word Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible, does that make it a false doctrine.

The Bible itself says that not everything is contained in the Bible.
If it doesn’t conflict with the bible, then it might be all right.

That ignores the problem that many have pointed out.

Where in the Bible does it say that what is not in the bible is heresy - or wrong - or whatever you want to call it???

Pardon me, but how do you know that? Are you some kind of expert on Catholicism? You can’t even tell the difference between the Hail Mary and the Sign of the Cross.
