Its really not that bad, considering what “spring break” means now days I dont blame them, after all here is what the 20 were charged with:

I noticed too that they emphasized mixed dancing…wouldn’t they frown on non-mixed dancing as well? It seems an all-male event with drinking, dancing and videos wouldn’t go over well in Saudi Arabia…

I dont know if they were guilty or not, but it appears they were accused of starting an orgy. I said this noting how the term “Spring Break” is associated with orgies.

Its not much of a stretch, “drinking, arranging for impudent party, mixed dancing and shooting a video for the party”…all ingredients for an orgy.

There were a couple hundred foreignners, over half of the foreigners were women, combine that with “party” and “drinking” and in that society that is a recepe for immorality.

In absence of other data, I think it is a stretch. Possible? Sure. But, I think it could also just be a party where people wanted to drink and dance.

Well, foreigners in Saudi Arabia should know better. As far as being a “recipe for immorality” that would be true here as well, but I don’t favor locking people up for it.

Foreigners go to a Whahabiist Islamic state and expect to get away with dancing and alcohol? They should be slapped with a “stupidity” offense as well.
