Where to buy Douay-Rheims compact Bible?

I was wondering if anybody could help me out. Hopefully this is in the right category. I am a former Protestant and I loved my KJV compact Bible. I even still have it but need a complete Bible that I can take to work with me and elsewhere. I love the Douay-Rheims because it is much like the KJV when it comes to writing style. Do you know where you can get one at? The best size would be around 5 x 1.7 x 6.5 inches, but a little bit bigger could work too. Any help anybody could give me would be greatly appreciated. Have you thought about looking for a used one? There must be plenty of old, pre-loved Douays on the used book websites and even on eBay.

Baronius Press - I bought the Douhy-Rheims & Clementina Vulgata (8.5"x11") and the standard 6"x8.25 about weeks ago. Fast delivery and a wonderful product. So nice to have both the Latin in the big one, and the orthodox notes in both. I have a different bible from about 20 years ago which I don’t like using because of the “modern” notes (I say unbelieving).
 
I’ve not yet read the books of the bible that are missing from the Protestant bible. I should probably get onto that sometime soon !

This is a very nice Bible. I wish I had one. I do have both the DRV and the Latin Vulgate, but they are in separate volumes.
 
Yes, Baronius press is great. I have a Knox Bible from them. They make pocket-sized Douay-Rheims Bibles in several colors: black, burgundy, and white. They’re slightly pricey, but worth it due to their quality.
 
As a suggestion, if possible, I think it is better to buy directly from Baronius. I believe it is slightly better financially for them, and then you don’t have to support Amazon as much. I myself do use Amazon when I have to, but if possible try to reduce my contributions to their finances, as they are not a very Christian organization.
 
Old or new, it doesn’t matter to me. The regular Douay-Rheims hardback one I have here at home is used and I love it.
 
Me as well. Just going through the Gospels mostly right now as I’m reading The Life of Christ by the Catholic Press (1954). They have passages to go over before they talk about certain parts of Christ’s life. It’s great.
 
I have heard very good things about Baronius Press. I was thinking about the 1962 Missal I bought a few months back. Wasn’t sure if it was Baronius or Angelus. It was Angelus. They have quality products as well.
 
Without question. Amazon is about as worldly as it gets. Pretty sure they’ve supported “Planned” Parenthood in the past as well. Buying from the source, when available, is always a good option.
 
Start with the Book of Tobit. A “mini-Job”, it encompasses virtually every aspect of human life. It reveals the Archangel Raphael (“I am one of the seven”). If it does not bring tears, you might be deceased.

OP: Consider a compact edition of the Douay-Confraternity bible. Produced from 1941-1969, they are available used only, but sell for a song on eBay and in thrift stores. I found a 1960 edition which measures 4-3/4" X 7" X 2" for less than $2 at a Goodwill store. They have the Douay OT with some newer Confraternity OT translations introduced as time passed. But, they have the 1941 Confraternity NT, which IMO, along with the Knox, is the best English language translation ever made.

Job. Now that is such an amazing book to get your focus where it needs to be. Job 38 to be exact. God really gives you perspective. If it’s like Job, I will definitely be reading it. I’ll be reading them all eventually. I’ve read the Protestant Bible cover-to-cover a couple times. Some different versions thrown in there like the KJV, of course, NLT, NIV, etc. Time to read the complete Bible finally.
 
Tobit is far less discursive than Job, but contains life, death, illness, healing, riches and poverty, debt and repayment, love and marriage, loss and recovery, travel and adventure - even a dog wagging its tail. Sorrow, joy - the tears of both - it is all in there. A quick read at just 14 short chapters, every Christian (let alone Catholic) should read it.

My favorite scripture verse is the words of the Archangel Raphael (12:13)
“Because thou wast acceptable to God, it was necessary that thy faith should be tested.”
