I dropped some stuff off at a resale store and picked up 3 pairs of pants. I like to shop there but you have to be open to what they have. The pants are nice dressy ones.

It sucks when you live in a tropical country. Buying clothes is easier for non girly girls if the weather is cold enough. I don’t like flowy skirts or dresses (although it’s best for hot weather) so I end up with jeans and t shirts/office attire.

I dress modestly. I’m not sure it is a religious choice. It’s more of a comfort choice. I’m not comfortable drawing attention to myself, so I tend to dress minimally. I almost always have some sort of cardigan or jacket on because I also tend to get cold.

So, if I were trying to describe my style I’d call it classic contemporary. I’m in my 30s. The Dutchess of Cambridge and I dress very similarly! Even if I wear pants that are tighter I cover my bum. This is an excellent example of what I look like usually:

And here is an example of something I would wear to church:

3/4 length sleeves or long sleeves and knee length. If I love a dress with short or no sleeves I pair it with a cardigan or a shawl.

So, if this fits your definition of modesty, I shop at:

J. Crew
Ann Taylor
Loft
Banana Republic
Brooks Brothers (outlet)
Old Navy
Macy’s/Nordstrom/Dillard’s/Belk

That’s also me. Just throw in Talbot’s and Pendleton and make her skirts a bit longer. (With short legs, that mid length chops me visually in half.)

She’s got a timeless style in my book. I’ve basically dressed like that for years.

Talbot’s clothes tend not to sit well on my frame, but I do LOVE looking at their catalog. I’ve never heard of Pendleton’s. I’ll have to look them up.

Macys! Best ever clothes, classy and top quality brands. Great prices!! Awesome coupons!

It can also be handy to figure out which brands sell pretty much the same thing every year. Then you can try on what’s there and buy it when it goes on sale. A lot of lower-level designer brands can be good for that.
