I’m sorry I missed that. Work takes me out of the house for 12 hours Monday thru Thursday.(only 9 on Friday)
 
He’s not a real Archbishop, due to being Protestant (per Leo XIII).

I got that, but the post was about his answer to the question “Where was God on 9/11?”, which is the title of this thread, and he gave a very good answer.

To say that he is not a real Archbishop because he is Protestant, though understandable on your terms, is ad hominem in the literal sense of being directed “to the person” rather than to his message, and I questioned the necessity of bringing it into the discussion which is about 9/11.

Where was God on 9/11?

One fellow was on his way to work. There was a minor fender bender that prevented him for catching his usual commuter train. So, he was late. And then when he got into the City, the subway was all screwed up. So, by the time, he got to downtown, … well he was cursing and swearing … very late for work … as he climbed the staircase out of the subway, he heard a “BOOM” and he looked up and saw one of the airliners crash into the World Trade Center.

Thousands of people had similar experiences.
 
I think the problem with this reasoning is that it implies God picked certain people to “save” while leaving other people to suffer a horrible death. I myself accept the fact that people all have different times and manners in which to die, and that a death that seems untimely or awful to us may well be serving some part of God’s plan we don’t fully comprehend, but it’s hard to present that view to grieving loved ones.
 
I personally know of two Catholic priests in different places who, when they became aware of the terrorist attack on the WTC, immediately knelt down, and administered absolution to everyone.

Some comfort, at least.

God choses which prayers to answer.

He is INFINITE, so there is no way we can fathom His Will.

We have free will, so we can choose to obey His commandments.

And in the end, He is the Judge and He decides who goes to Heaven and who does not.

God answers all prayers but the answer is not always to our liking.
 
God was also crying a lot.

He gave us free will … and we misused it.

If He intervened, then we would be robots.

But we also have not only free will, but we also have the promise of Heaven.
 
The two WTC towers were NOT designed or built to withstand such attacks.

Jet fuel does not MELT steel, but it DOES soften steel.

The third building contained a 20,000 gallon fuel tank designed to support their emergency generator, but the fuel pump did not shut off and kept fueling the fire.

The conspiracy theories about the WTC are not being generated by occupants of the WTC because they were present and knew what was transpiring. The conspiracy theories are being promulgated by people who were not anywhere near there.

The heat doesn’t melt the steel; it softens it, and that is all it takes. Once the weakest floor collapses, there is a huge momentum that hammers and collapses the floors below. No conspiracy. Just the properties of materials and physics.
 
Check out the Popular Mechanics discussion of 9/11.

A lot of things happened that explain the events, but conspiracy theorists deliberately ignore them.
