Mickey:
Yes, I am following you around because you are an anti-Catholic in disguise with ulterior motives and agendas. You have been posting anti-Catholic website propaganda and I am close to reporting you.

This is from the associated press last summer:

The United States will no longer be a majority Protestant nation in years to come, due to a precipitous decline in affiliation with many Protestant churches, a new survey has found.
Mickey,

What is it that you don’t like about me?

I didn’t know it was against the rules for protestants to post here. I posted some stats in response to this thread.

Let me explain myself. I am not catholic but I am NOT anti-catholic. I was baptized and confirmed. My entire family is catholic and I have not tried to “convert” a single one of them. I respect an educated persons beliefs. Most people here seem to fit that description. I don’t consider myself a protestant because I’m not protesting any church.

A friend on another forum has been begging me to come here and post questions to an educated catholic forum. He’s tired of going it alone on that site. He said people here are nice people. I agree.

If my agenda was to post anti-catholic propaganda, I would have posted mush more exagerated junk and lies. That is not my intent. However, I can’t pretend to believe something just because I’m on their turf.

This thread asks what will happen to Christianity in 100 years.

Look at the UK for that answer. We are heading there. This is NOT a Prot/Catholic problem. It is a CHRISTIANITY problem. Personally, I think the catholic church is in bigger danger. I don’t want to speculate why but I have a few theories. My intent was to wake up some people to the reality of the real crisis. People are leaving CHRISTIANITY.

Personally, I’m sick of prot/cath debates. I think we all need to reach out to the community and bring people back to Christ.

The Catholic Church is growing in Africa and Asia.

As for your last sentence, I agree, everybody needs to come home:) .

My apologies Ruzz. :o There were two posts where you listed mild anti-Catholic material and I got carried away–I tend to do that sometimes because of prior experiences with viscious anti-Catholic psuedo-apologists who troll these forums and attack the Catholic faith. I will be watching you though! 😉

You are correct. We can look to the UK and see that it is Christianity that is under fire. And this country seems to be following suit. Look at the ACLU! THIS IS AN ORGANIZATION STRAIGHT FROM THE BOWELS OF HELL. And they have vibrant funding and considerable influence.

CHRISTAINS STAND UNITED!

My applogies as well Mickey,

I tend to not always realize how something may be received before opening my mouth or in this case typing something.

I have many bookmarked links that I refer to, and they are non denominational. But trust me, I am not trying to bash catholicism. I am trying to bash apathy.

This thread caught my eye because I too have great concerns about the future of Christianity. Our modern, “who needs God”, liberal society seems to think He’s outdated. The focus seems to be on self and not God. It bugs me. I have friends who were missionaries in England and they shared how that country as all but abandoned Christianity.

Instead of us all high fiving ourselves thinking we Christians are great, should realize that the enemy is pulling people away from the Lord. That is the point of my other post. That we need to realize there is a crisis.

Yes, the ACLU should stand for Anti Christian Liberal Union. They are attempting to do to this country what has happened in Europe.

I am thrilled that missionary work is taking place in Africa and Asia. I have neighbors who just returned from Yugonda and there is a lot of work to be done. But there is a lot of work to be done in our OWN country here in the US. Stats show Christianity is in decline in this country. We need revival. I think education is a big part of that. The future is in our kids. We need to shut off the MTV and open up family bible time. Families need to be on fire for the Lord and not luke warm Christians.

Most of this country identifies themselves as Christian. However, a small percentage practice what they preach. Church attendance is down all over. This is not a catholic/protestant battle. It is a battle with Satan. He is decieving our youth.

This forum (non-catholic religions) should be discussing non-CHRISTIANs and how to bring them to the Lord. But the decline can also be reduced at home by Americans being proud of Christianity and sharing with the world the good news of Jesus Christ. It’s time we are proud of Him and make Him socially acceptable. When we allow Michael Moore to call the Red states “Jesus Land”, we should stand up and say, “You bet!”

So YES! Satan is laughing his head off right now. It is time to stop arguing amonst ourselves over silly stuff and UNITE against the REAL enemy.

Amen to all of that Ruzz! The prince of this world is laughing as he attempts to steals souls away from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I wonder if the evil one knows he can’t win though? 😉 Too many people leave their faith in the Church pew every week. We must practice our faith in the marketplace as a living testimony to Christ. I think some of the most sobering passages in Scripture are:

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.

How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it! Matthew 7: 13-14

Strive to enter by the narrow gate: for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter and shall not be able. Luke 13:24

Let us attempt to plant the seeds that will assist our Lord to bring as many as possible through the narrow gate! 🙂

May God watch over you and grant you many happy, healthy, and blessed years!

In 100 years I estimate that Christianity will be mainly centred in China and Africa engaged in warfare with Islam.

I don’t know about that. I see lots of possible Taoist/Confucian/Christian syncretism occurring in China, possibly with a revival of the Shaolin martial arts system used in conjunction with Chinese imperial aims in the Far East, and a probable establishing of Beijing as a new “spiritual capital” of the world, as a rival to Rome.

In Africa, Traditionalists will link up with Sufi Muslims and Catholics in a struggle against a Islamic movement fueled by Wahhabi sympathies.

I suppose that when they were nailing Jesus Christ to the cross, they never thought his followers would be around in a hundred years, never mind in 2,000.

When the Church was most threatened, it flourished the most.

The same is true today in Europe, America, and elsewhere.

His crucifixion was the start of his triumph … and we must bear his cross with him.

IMO, I think it will collapse in 100 years, people are beginning to search for the truth. You don’t need religion to be a better person, religion just implants fear of a mythological god in people’s daily lives.
One day you will regret that. I know in my heart that god exists. Mainstream atheism is the great evil of the 21st century. All over Europe and the US and even other places people are turning away from Christ, just as the Bible predicted. It saddens me that someone so young would say something like that.
