Whether here towel girded refers to priesthood. Because I studied somewhere, where this verse is compared to OT for priest. That this transubstantiation must be done by priest.

Our Lord used sacrificial language at the last supper. Rather than bits and pieces of scripture, look at the big picture: after all was said and done, He commanded the Apostles to “Do this…”
Combine that with the power of binding and loosing, power over sin, power over demons, power to raise the dead, ect. He did not just give this ability to passersby.

In all such arguments, ask your antagonist just where, chapter and verse please, Jesus taught that we are to run to the bible and argue until the Parousia over what on earth it means. Nonsense!

Jesus spoke of OT scriptures and His fulfillment of it. He said not a single syllable about any NT scripture. Nothing about any writing whatsoever. He sent Apostles.

We are blessed to have the bible, but it serves the church and does not define it.

He riseth from supper; that is, after supper was done, or ended, as it is here said, (ver. 2. and 1 Corinthians xi. 25.) girded himself like a servant, to wash and wipe the feet of his apostles. (Witham) — If we compare the text of the four evangelists, it will appear that the washing of the feet preceded the institution of the blessed Eucharist, of which St. John is silent. The earliest explicit mention of there being a restriction on who can administer the Eucharist, at least that I am aware of, is found in the writings of St Ignatius of Antioch, who, about the year 107, said, “Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it.” (Epistle to the Smyrnaeans, chapter 8)

I think you might be thinking of verse 5.

John 13:5
5 Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.

The foot washing may be a sign of priestly ordination as in the OT…

Exodus 40:12 Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting, and shall wash them with water,

Exodus 40:30-32
30 And he set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing, 31 with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet; 32 when they went into the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed; as the Lord commanded Moses.

Against this background, Jesus washing Peter and the disciples parallells the scene of Moses washing Aaron and his sons in the day of their consecration to the priesthood…

Leviticus 8:6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

Likewise, the Apostles’ recieving a “part” (Gk. meros) in Jesus

John 13:8 Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part in me.”

recalls how the Levites had their “portion” (Gk. meris) in the Lord God alone.

Numbers 18:20
20 And the Lord said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them; I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.

Deuteronomy 10:9
9 Therefore Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers; the Lord is his inheritance, as the Lord your God said to him.)

Luke 12:19 also speaks of the Ordination of Holy Orders
