Opposes 😛

Do those ‘denominations’ support consumating the ‘marriage’?

Edit: didn’t read what you had written in green.

For two homosexuals to love each other is not understood by me but I won’t take away that they may have feelings and devotions as strong as any heterosexual couple.
Partnership is one thing, I consider marriage in itself to be between a man and a woman, simply from the definition of ‘marriage’.
If two homosexuals want to be together, civil partnerships should be sufficient. I wouldn’t be opposed to the creation o a new word and ceremony for the procedure but in my opinion marriage is between a man and a woman.

Sodomy and fellatio… sins

Are heterosexual couples capable of having immoral sex acts ?
I think all too often, homosexuals catch the brunt of the immorality speach. There are more heterosexual couples who are sitting in the church pews with a self righteous attitude who dont have the guts to look at their own shortcomings. I cannot and will not sit in judgement of anyone. My role is to be charitable. Doesnt mean I condone it. It means I’m sick of one group taking the brunt of the immorality talk.

**Jimmy, I am against gay marriage as I agree that it should be between a man and a woman, but I do not condone the person. In our Catechism, it says to respect and accept them. God loves all His people including gay people. To tell me otherwise is a bunch of bs.
Gays do not “choose” to be gay, nor does Christ condemn children who find out at 13 years old and then they die, I don’t believe God would send a 13 year old to hell.

Again, I am against gay marriage, but not gay people. And neither is God.**

neither do i condemn anyone. i know gay couple who have lived together for 20 years as partners, but when california allowed gay marriage, they jumped into it. the Bible is clear on the abomination of homosexual acts (see Romans and Leviticus). God did not create man to lie down w/ another man, nor woman to have sex w/ another woman. sex between a man and a woman w/in the sacrament of marriage has one purpose - to multiply, w/c no man and man, nor woman-woman can do. God in his great love for us allows us to be co-creators w/ him. if i oppose gay marriage, it’s for this reason.👍
God bless.

I attend the Church of God. We do not support gay marriages or believe they are right. We also do not support abortion. However, we also know that we are not God and don’t stand in judgement of these people. Of course if someone asked, we would tell them that no we don’t believe this is what God wants. But we would not forbid them to come and feel welcome at our church. as we believe this is where they need to. Sometimes I wonder if we get church wrong. I do believe that church is for Christians, but is not also for the sinners to come into and be reached??

Matthew 7:15-21

***15 **9 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. *
***16 ******By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? ***
***17 ******Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. ***
***18 ******A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. ***
***19 ******Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. ***
***20 ******So by their fruits you will know them. ***
***21 *****"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, 10 but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. **

The Catholic Church is not a denomination.

P.S. Your profile is wrong. If you’re Roman Catholic your diocese home page would be: vicariatusurbis.org. Since you’re a Catholic living in Los Angeles your diocese home page is la-archdiocese.org. 😃

I am shocked that Lutherans are on the support list. IS that all Synods or just some of them?

Where are those Lutherans…If they could stop nailing things to the door for a minute and help us…

Can you please tell me what the motivation for these threads are?? I can tell you the intenition in which I see them is to stir up conflict. What do you hope to accomplish by doing this??

Sodomy and fellatio… sins

Sodomy is also a felony in many states, though these laws have been invalidated due to the Supreme Court’s decision in 2003.

An interesting fact, Emperor Justinius of Constantinople outlawed homosexual behavior (there had been previous laws in Rome, though) with the penalty of disobedience being execution by beheading.

Prayers and petitions,
Alexius:cool:

The Old Testament is clear about homosexual acts, but it does not say about children who find out at 12 and 13 years old. I’m sorry, but no one will ever convince me that these kids go straight to hell if they die at this early age. Because if this was so, I would never be a Catholic/Christian. Our God is a merciful God, a forgiving God. God in the Old Testament was mean, Jesus Christ in the New Covenant is kind and merciful.

Most un-programmed Friends Meetings support those members who are gay or lesbian who wish to form permanent relationships with their Significan Other. These Meetings require the couple to go through the same process as their “straight” counterparts in requesting their union to be “placed under the care of the Meeting”.

The same “marriage contract” and words of commitment are used for both. Once a couple has made their intent known with the Meeting for Worship for Business, a “Clearness Committee” is appointed consisting of two or three Friends who meet with the couple and discuss their desire…once their findings are completed they make a recommendation to the Meeting and an “Oversite Committee” is selected to assist the couple in the preparations.

At a Meeting for Worship for Marriage the couple sit up front on the “facing benches” and “wait upon the Lord”…anyone “moved by the Spirit” to give advice or testimony or prayer does so…at the appointed time the couple stand and say these words…

“In the presence of God and before these our families and friends, I take thee (bride’s/groom’s name) to be my wife/husband/partner, promising with Divine assistance to be unto thee a loving and faithful husband/wife/partner so long as we both shall live.”

They sit until the Clerk or one who has “care of the Meeting” determine it is closed…everyone turns and shakes hands and the Meeting is over…all present sign the Certificate of Marriage/Union and a reception usually follows.

For those states that recognize civil union or “gay marriage” the certificate is filed along with the license…in those states where it is not recongnized, it is filed with the Monthly or Yearly Meeting.

It is God who “marrys” a couple…not a priest or minister…so Friends recongnize that through the ministry of the Meeting and the process of the Clearness Committee a Meeting for Worship for Marriage/Union takes place.

I’m, sorry Publisher but it was difficult for me to read your post here…the whole thing made me feel very uncomfortable and that’s the truth.

What denomination are you talking about in your post?

I usually like your posts…but this one was just too much for me to handle, I won’t be reading it again…sorry.

Gay Marriage is wrong.

Peace.

Ouch!! Darn hammer just hit my thumb. Wish you guys would use wooden doors again!

The LCMS does not endorse gay marriage. I can’t imagine WELS does, either.

As for the ELCA. gnuss might be able to clarify, but I did find this statement on their website.

No apologies necessary to me…if you don’t want a “gay marriage”…don’t have one.🙂

The Society of Friends went through years of discussion and seeking the “sense of the Meeting” before it was determined that the worth of persons and our understanding of the Light Within opened to us that our gay and lesbian Friends were complete and full members of our Society and had all the rights and priveleges due to them as Friends…it was a difficult decision but we finally came to a consenus.
