No apologies necessary to me…if you don’t want a “gay marriage”…don’t have one.:).
You don’t have to worry about me…that’s for sure!

I do hope that one day, you change your own opinion on this issue.

Take Care…Peace

I attend the local Unitarian Universalist Church and while y’all might not consider them Christian, they do support gay marriage. As do I.

The sin of open and accepted sodomy was the primary reason that God rained hell down and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
The sin was so accepted that the sodomites from all parts of the city thought it was OK to force sodomy on anyone they chose to.

Our country is getting to the state where my pointing this out is almost a “hate-crime”.

No true Christian could support “Gay Marriage”. Sodomy is condemned in the Bible.

I am shocked that Lutherans are on the support list. IS that all Synods or just some of them?

Where are those Lutherans…If they could stop nailing things to the door for a minute and help us…
No, most certainly NOT all synods. Missouri Synod would not support gay marriage, nor would the Wisconsin Synod. The only one who might would be the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America - they are the most liberal of the three but even they aren’t totally on-board with the whole gay marriage thing.

Do you consider them a Christian church… followers of Jesus Christ who said, “I am the way and the truth and the life… no one comes to the Father but through Me?”

I think that some Unitarian Universalists are. Others are not.

Does it support illegal sexual encounters between Catholic clergy and minor boys?
I really think that this is an uncalled for remark. Although it is a black stain on Catholicism, it does happen in other denominations and I don’t think any Church supports it.

Even if you view this thread as inflammatory, that is no reason to lower yourself to responding in kind.

SIA, you would think that after all the time that you have spent on this forum, you would have learned something. It is obvious that you have not. That was a stupid, cheap shot. You know very well that the Catholic Church does not support such a thing. You want to trade shots, I’m your man. You Episcopalians ordain sodomites, priests and “Bishops”, do they engage in “illegal sexual encounters” with minor boys? And do you support such acts? Grow up.

To paraphrase what you have posted
Just more insults, more unsubstantiated rhetoric and more hatred. You carry on like someone who has a valid point to make but yet you don’t. You just drag on and on. I dismiss any notion of possible truth associated with the useless played out garbage that you continue to spew in hate against Catholics here. You should be ashamed of yourself. I know many Protestants who would be utterly embarrassed to be associated with the way in which you attack others.
Is your goal to be banned so you can say how unreasonable Catholics are?

The Roman Catholic Church is apposed to Gay Marriage.
Yes, of course but does Christ hate the homosexual? Are gays going to hell? even if they find out at 14 years old and die in a car accident, does Christ condemn this? The biggest Commandment is to love one another.
Jimmy, I am a devout Roman Catholic as you know, and I wrestle with the fact that Christ sends them straight to hell. I don’t think so. I am against gay marriage, but not against gay people. Am I wrong?

I can’t find the wording in the Catechism. I need a direct link from someone I guess.
And what is it with this view that God was mean in the OT?? That is the heresy of Marcionism you realize.

The Old Testament is clear about homosexual acts,
So is the NT
God in the Old Testament was mean, Jesus Christ in the New Covenant is kind and merciful.
HERESY!!!
Expounding on Paul’s characterization of the Mosaic Law as the cause of sin, Marcion desired a Christianity untainted by any elements of Judaism. **He saw the God of the Old Testament as cruel and vengeful, **an embarrassment and a stumbling block in the evangelization of the Gentiles.
How could the God who commanded adulterers to be stoned be reconciled with the God who let them go free? This was overcome by postulating the existence of two gods. Marcion concluded that the tyrannical Creator-God of the Old Testament, Yahweh, was in opposition to the merciful and loving God of the New Testament.

Indeed
The Catholic Church responded vigorously to the threat posed by the Marcionites. Since Marcion’s argument was dualistic in nature (good vs. bad gods), apologists such as Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Hippolytus, and Tertullian insisted on there being only one, perfectly good God.

Moreover, is Gay Marriage morally wrong?

Your Thoughts?
I see that you for some unknown reason includes orthodox rabbinical Jews in your list of “Christian denominations”. Care to explain why?

Secondly, saying that “Lutheran” supports homophile “marriages” is at best a half-truth. The full truth is, that ONE of the Lutheran Churches does. The ELCA does not speak for all American Lutherans (not to mention worldwide…)

The Old Testament is clear about homosexual acts, but it does not say about children who find out at 12 and 13 years old. I’m sorry, but no one will ever convince me that these kids go straight to hell if they die at this early age. Because if this was so, I would never be a Catholic/Christian. Our God is a merciful God, a forgiving God. ** God in the Old Testament was mean, Jesus Christ in the New Covenant is kind and merciful.**
Someone seriously needs to read the Bible more, and more thoroughly at that. Because that statement (God in the OT being an evil dictator, and Jesus being the cool hippie who thinks everything is just a-ok “dude”) is utterly ridiculous. It doesn’t require a theologian to refute it - enlightnened laity can do so quite easily.

Hello LutheranDK. long time no see,

You’re right, I should have made a separate Jewish category. And, as far as the Lutheran Church goes…good point.
