lutheranFrom which denomination???
It is YOU who needs to read the bible more, because if you have Everyone knows that God WAS a mean God in the OT. WHY DON’T YOU READ IT!!! And those are your ridiculous words saying I think Jesus is a cool hippie or something. Stop putting words in my mouth Lutheran. It doesn’t take a theologian genius to figure it out…Someone seriously needs to read the Bible more, and more thoroughly at that. Because that statement (God in the OT being an evil dictator, and Jesus being the cool hippie who thinks everything is just a-ok “dude”) is utterly ridiculous. It doesn’t require a theologian to refute it - enlightnened laity can do so quite easily.
It is actually not a “truth” at all.I
Secondly, saying that “Lutheran” supports homophile “marriages” is at best a half-truth. The full truth is, that ONE of the Lutheran Churches does. The ELCA does not speak for all American Lutherans (not to mention worldwide…)
The issue is never whether or not a clergyman is gay, as there have certainly been gays in all brands of clergy, including gay Muslim clerics. The issue is always how does one deal with one’s gender attraction outside of marriage. Gay or straight, it doesn’t matter.i know a gay pastor![]()
The Unitarian Universalists warrant their own category as well.Hello LutheranDK. long time no see,
You’re right, I should have made a separate Jewish category. And, as far as the Lutheran Church goes…good point.
well he has a partner,so i guess he does “things”The issue is never whether or not a clergyman is gay, as there have certainly been gays in all brands of clergy, including gay Muslim clerics. Being gay does not eliminate one from serving the Lord, even as a pastor, anymore than being straight does.

Aside from being an abomination to God, Gay sex is just plain nasty., not to mention life-threatening.well he has a partner,so i guess he does “things”
My thought is that you will have a few million (just in the US) Lutherans upset at you. The second largest Lutheran body in the US (Missouri Synod) is conservative and against gay marriage (for that matter they do not ordain women either). Ditto for the Wisconsin Synod. I know Lutherans who get upset every time the media says “Lutherans support X” when they mean a subset.Which Christian denominations support Gay Marriage? Here a list that I have put together based on various internet sources, whose reliability, I’m not quite sure of. So, Please let me know if this information is inaccurate. Thank you!
Apposes Gay Marriage
Roman Catholic Church
Orthodox
Church of God in Christ
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Conservative Congregational Christian Conference
Conservative Mennonite Conference
**Convocation of Anglicans in North America, **
Hutterite Brethren
Orthodox Church in America
Seventh-day Adventist Church,
Southern Baptist Convention
Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America
Supports Gay Marriage
Metropolitan Community Church
United Church of Christ
Unitarian Universalists
United Church of Canada
Episcopal
Lutheran
Moreover, is Gay Marriage morally wrong?
Your Thoughts?

Really? Do you think all teenage gays go to hell? this is a yes or no question.Aside from being an abomination to God, Gay sex is just plain nasty., not to mention life-threatening.
Thanks for bringing out this attitude that is found in both Catholics and Protestants alike. I think 21st Century Christians have sinned and discriminated against those with a different sexual orientation. Evangelical teens commit suicide when they come to grips that they are gay or a lesbian since they become alienated from their family and religious communities. Heck, some Evangelical parents send their gay and lesbian kids to straight camps to make them straight. Some Evangelical parents disown their gay and lesbian children too. I’m not sure if Catholics have a tendency to treat their gay and lesbian children in the same way some Evangelicals do. Christians put stickers on their cars like “God hate fags”. Now, that’s a Christless Christianity. Please join me in a related thread called “Discerning Homosexuality and same sex marriage in the light of the gospel”.Really? Really what?Really? Do you think all teenage gays go to hell? this is a yes or no question.
Are you saying that you have never committed adultery according to Jesus? If you are honest… we are both sexually immoral sinners as heterosexuals according to Jesus Christ. We are both on this list of Saint Paul as heterosexual adulterers. If you cannot identify with this list of sins below, then you have no need of a Savior. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.Really what?
As far as teenage “gays” are concerned, I don’t know who goes to hell. but St. Paul says that those who practice homosexuality do. You figure it out.

Let me be very clear. The Church does not regard the condition of homosexuality as sinful. It does regard the practice of homosexual acts as sinful. It regards heterosexeual acts outside of marriage as sinful. Homosexual acts in and of themselves are unnatural and unproductive, not to mention disgusting and again, life-threatening. Not my opinion, simple fact.

So, what’s your point? I do not disagree with you, I am simply stating that St. Paul said this about homosexuals, I do not know who is going to hell and that homosexual sex is nasty and life-threatening. What part do you NOT agree with? Do you have homosexual issues? Are you saying that you have never committed adultery according to Jesus?

Here are the relevant Scriptures:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1- Cor 6
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. - Jesus
