You simply have nothing to refute that. It is common knowledge in many circles. And the Protestant clergy charge?? The biggest thing in the world of news for a while was the Catholic child sex abuse scandal. Can you show me any one other church that has paid out over a Billion dollars in damages to victims?? I didn’t think so.
Your first sentence makes no sense. Because it made news proves what? The amount of money paid out make no difference either.

sex abuse charges by Protestant Ministers
Sex abuse spans spectrum of churches

Church trial starting for US Anglican bishop accused of covering up sex abuse

You will find sinners in every Church.

Christ’s one and only Church is the Catholic Church.
Nice but according to the Eastern Orthodox YOU left the Catholic Church (which is the EO). They (the other Patriarchs) remained steadfast to the faith and the Church Christ founded.

Since you are abrasive forgive me (to other Catholic) but your attacks on Justy because of Robinson are unfounded. One could just as easily say “so, what that the RCC has a policy against homosexuality it can be amply demonstrated that the church knew it had gay clergy (in some cases practicing) and gay Bishops (in some cases practicing) and ignored the issue”. So, big deal they had a policy. Up to 33 % of the priesthood is gay a number of priests and Bishops have been caught practicing (number of media stories ranging from attempting to molest seminarians to frequenting male prostitutes). See Wiki links posted for figures, stats, and other info. In the same way the pedophilia scandal was mishandled, the founder of the Legionaries was mishandled (he was apparently a practicing bi sexual). The church said one thing and does another in many cases. Compared to the Catholic gay clergy scandals Gene Robinson seems rather tame (extremely tame).

I say the above only to say…1holycath when you take the route you are taking you and the church loses. There is no moral superiority in the RCC (or any other church for that matter). Churches are full of sinners.

PS I do not support Gene Robinson in the TEC or Weakland in the RCC.

The Episcopalians are part of the Anglican communion.
You’ve failed to answer the question regarding the use of abortifacients. Why is that?
Just put your Catholic trunks on and swim in your pool of deceit and rhetoric. They keep the temperature nice and high so you’ll be most comfortable.🙂
Unsubstantiated accusation but still no answer to the question posed. 🤷

=RevDrNorth;5740208]Don’t worry the Pope is the head of the Church. For Protestants it is Jesus Christ They have the Magesterium and we have the Holy Spirit.
.

Yes the Pope is the VISIBLE head of the Church as established by Jesus. The Holy Spirit is with His Church always because that is what Jesus promised.

The Church does not teach that the sin of homosexual behavior is acceptable. There are no exceptions, not even for archbishops.

Episcopalians (part of the Anglican Communion) teach that Vicki Gene Robinson’s sinful homosexual behavior is acceptable.

At one point a large number of the Bishops were Arians. That doesn’t mean the Church taught Arianism.

Where did you get your ”33%” statistic and is that just the Catholic Church in America or the Catholic Church worldwide?

Non-Catholics (and you know who you are) do in fact teach this. That ALL GAYS will go straight to hell.
You are quite right. There are some non-Catholics that do teach this.

But as it is also a fact that some priests are pedophile, I’m sure you won’t object to simple statement that parrallels yours such as: Priests (and you know who you are) do in fact practice pedophilia.

Surely you would object to such a statement, because it is written in such a way that it ignores the fact that the number of priest guilty of practicing this is very small compared to the total number of priests. Such a statement, while factually true, does not truly characters who priests are nor what they are about. The same applies to your statement. While factually true that there are Non-Catholics who teach that all gays will go straight to hell, it does not truly represent the predominant set of beliefs and teachings of non-Catholics regarding those who have a gay lifestyle.

So, perhaps you will understand that just as I would expect many Catholics to take offense to such a statement regarding priests, so I take offense to your statement regarding non-Catholics.

**The Catholic church doesn’t allow priests to be married or women to be ordained because it is from the Apostles, the 12 who were MEN AND NOT WOMEN. Christ chose the Apostles whom were celibate to pass down to the priesthood. why is this so hard to understand? **

Do you know your own history so poorly? There were married priests in the Catholic church for centuries. There were popes who fathered children.

Do you know the Bible so poorly? Peter had a mother-in-law, while I can’t prove the he consumated his marriage, I think that such an assumption is safer than to assume that Peter was celibate in his marriage on the basis that the Catholic church today now asks for its priests to remain celibate and not to marry.

Do you not know your own church? Priestly celibacy is not an unchangeable dogma but a disciplinary rule. Even today, the reality is that the Catholic church does allow priest to be married in certain circumstances. I personally know of married men who, having been ordained in other faith communities have converted to Catholicism, are ordained as priests in the Catholic church and yet remain married. This is rare, but it does happen. But more than that, not rare but rather the norm is that in the Eastern Rite the majority of Catholic priests are in fact married.

Your pointed questions do not use sustainable facts. Therefore won’t be baited into them. Episcopalians and ACNA Anglicans are not interchangeable. We do not support actively gay clergy nor do we support gay unions of any kind. This should be the end of you badgering me about something you know that we do not support.

At one point a large number of the Bishops were Arians. That doesn’t mean the Church taught Arianism.
So? The Anglican church doesn’t teach greed but yet we have a few parishioners that are as greedy as one can imagine.

Church teachings are not the point here. The point is what St. Paul proclaimed, that ALL have fallen short of the grace of God.

Episcopalians believe and teach that open homosexual behavior is acceptable. Episcopalians are part of the Anglican Communion (they are in common union with each other.)

You’re not in communion with them If you don’t believe what they believe.

And ACNA Anglicans teach that openly active homosexual behavior is sinful. Do you wish to continue beating this horse until it is dismembered?

What’s the point of saying you’re part of a communion when you’re not in communion with the other members?

You have confused me with anther poster. I have not asked any questions. So I have not badgered you only challenges your unsubstantiated statements.

You have missed the real point here. I’m really not sure that you missed it as opposed to ignored it. The Anglican Communion by and large as a whole communion does not support actively gay clergy nor does it support gay unions. The Episcopal church along with about 5 other provinces have indeed accepted both of these. But that is 5 out of a total of 40 (actually 39 being as the ACNA has yet to be formally received into the Communion) provinces. This is what has caused much of the rift in the Communion. Provinces in the Communion such as Uganda and the Southern Cone have and are continuously putting increasing pressure on the Communion as a whole to denounce this once and for all on the worldwide level.

It is the Episcopalians and the few others who are putting themselves in jeopardy of being put out of the Anglican Communion in the future. It is NOT the ACNA and others who are putting themselves into a mish mosh melting pot with Episcopalians and others to make a demagoguery of what it is to be Anglican. Totally on the contrary!

My apologies for confusing you with someone else. However, my statements are not unsubstantiated. They may be from sources that Catholics do not like for whatever reason, but the are supported. I find here that many Catholics do not like certain news sources and do not like much of the media for obvious reasons I’m sure.

People like to paint Anglicans with a real broad brush in here sometimes. It’s a great way to delegitimize and demonize a whole denomination. The reality is what you said, that far more provinces of the Anglican world stick to traditional norms sexually-speaking with ordination than those that have the innovation of ordaining practicing gays. Sadly, the real epidemic in Anglicanism that is a true threat is female ordination, which is far more widespread a heresy and eccelesiastical disgrace in Anglicanism than the small pockets of gay supporters. Female ordination is a bane to the Anglican Communion and, I fear, it will be so to the newly-formed ACNA. For the sake of our Lord and these good Anglican folks, I pray that they will have the courage to forsake this innovation, this sin, and get back to the historic understanding of the priesthood. Only then can they be unified in true catholic form.

You’re right about demogoguery of what it is to be an Anglican because there is no one definition of what it is to be Anglican. Some say it is to stick to the 39 Articles. Some say it is to stick to the prayer book. Some say neither but a more evangelical approach, some say to be Anglican is to be almost tractarians and high church folks. Sydney Australia is redefining Anglicanism with this outrageous lay person “consecration” of the Eucharist. Anglicanism is too ecclectic to be defined lol…

That’s a mighty broad brush you’ve painted Anglicans with. 🙂

Since the Anglican Communion does not have a valid priesthood everything they do is done by the laity. Since Anglicans do not have valid Holy Orders they don’t have the Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Holy Orders, or Anointing of the Sick. They have the same two Sacraments as any other Protestant denomination: Baptism and Marriage.
