You have told us repeatedly what the Church teaches. We got that.

The question is what do you do if 68% of Catholics ignore or disregard it?

Let me give you another example. The Church doesn’t allow you to receive communion in a state of “mortal sin”. The church I go to has a fairly large congregation, about 4000 people every Sunday spread over four services. Virtually everybody receives communion. In more than 12 years I have never seen anybody going to confession, except during Holy Week. I can give you more examples.
Yes…knowing what is wrong and freely choosing to do it anyways is called sin. You’re not seriously trying the ‘but everyone else is doing it’ argument, are you?

I already noted about the nature of “a survey” up above and the reality to that the Church is not just in one country or one in century…

Unfortunately many have learned from the surrounding culture and have not learned the truth, etc

But what if it is 68% in a certain place and time?

Even if the majority of persons on this earth thought the earth was flat?

Does that make it so?

Even if the majority of persons on this earth thought infanticide is good?

Does that make it so?

Even if the majority of persons on this earth thought contraception was good?

Does that make it so?

Even if the majority of person on this earth thought theft was good?

Does that make it so?

What to do with those who do not follow the Churches Teaching?

Pray, help them form consciences that are lit by the Gospel - not by the “surrounding culture” … that is part of the reality of the new evangelization etc.

Some of the disciples could not accept what Jesus taught (John 6:60 etc)- they said it was a “hard saying” and they -they could not accept his teaching - so they left… Jesus turned to the Apostles and asked - are you too going to leave? To which Peter responded - where would we go? You have the words of eternal life..

That and other hard saying of Jesus still remain “hard sayings” - but in him and thus in his Church and in his words -in his “hard sayings” - is* true life*.

Today some do not accept the hard saying of Jesus that he founded a Church and that* he* gave authority and the mission to that Church to teach the nations …to bind and loose……

But the church needs to address it, it surely realises most ignore it. It needs to be looked at again. Its no good the church just banging on about it being a sin. I cannot see c how preventing a pregnancy is sinful,go forthcand multiply didnt mean for us to have one child after another. People have to take their finances, size of house etc into consideration. Its absolutely ridiculous.

Your faith is limited to only the Words that Jesus said in the new Testament? What about the words of Jesus establishing His Church? What about the words of Jesus regarding the Eucharist in John chapter 6? What about the reliability of the Words of Jesus in the Bible at all? I mean the Church is the one that provides the Bible… So it is odd when people try to use the Bible to discount the Church. Why would the Church compile scripture that undermines or contradicts the Church? It is the logical inconsistency of Protestantism.
The Kingdom of GOD is the Catholic Church!

Why did Jesus Christ become Incarnate in the first place? Was it to leave us with a book, or to establish a Church? Well, in this verse He told us one of the reasons why:
“But He said to them, “To the other towns also I must PROCLAIM THE KINGDOM OF GOD, FOR THIS IS WHY I HAVE BEEN SENT”.”
Luke 4:43
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”
Luke 19:10
And how are we, who are the lost ones, to be saved? It is through the Church which He founded.

“Therefore, if you harken to My voice and keep My covenant, you shall be My special possession, dearer to Me than all other people, though all the earth is mine. YOU SHALL BECOME A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS, A HOLY NATION.”
Exodus 19:5-6
“You, however, are a chosen race, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PURCHASED PEOPLE; that you may proclaim the perfections of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
1Peter 2:9 :thumbsup:Daddy God Bless 🙂

Looking at it again is not going to change the Teaching…just as looking at theft or murder again is not going to change the Teachings.

The Church does address such (just read any document on the subject) -for serious reasons (which might include finances et al) there is NFP.

And the Church I imagine will continue in the up coming years work to address helping those who misunderstand the Teaching to understand it.

Murder and theft I consider serious sins, not preventing a pregnancy.

As is contraception.

(theft though can have lightness of matter…for venial sin)
Not in my opinion, and most catholics agree. The church is totally obsessed with sexual matters. There are far more serious things to worry about… Glad ive left a church run by a bunch if men who have no ideacof life in the real world.

As is contraception.
The Eastern Orthodox Church is flexible on ABC, as it may allow its use after the married couple have several children and are facing financial difficulties. And yet, the Roman Catholic Church is pushing strongly for a reunion between the two Churches.

Opinion is not the criteria for truth and morality.

And no one cannot say that most Catholics agree (I have addressed that several times.)
One survey or another or even another 3 - is just that. "a survey’

It is Not a counting of all Catholics…

How many “surveys” are done about who will win an election!!??

And that person the majority said they voted for – looses…

Such would be an example of the line “statistics lie”.

And even if it should ever happen in the future?*

What then?

Even if the majority of persons on this earth thought the earth was flat?

Does that make it so?

The Church from the very beginning has been a light to the world. And yes part of that very light has been the teachings about chastity …and the chaste lives of Christians (which amazed the pagans from the beginning).

No obsession but simply a light that shows the darkness of “a world and culture obsessed with sex”…

Perhaps some maybe. If so - unfortunately such a mistaken notion entered in some places among our closest brothers (something that will need to be rejected again in the future for full communion).

But all that is a new thing…Christians (even Protestants and their founders) all were against the evil of contraception --up until there were cracks started by the Anglican Lambreth Conference in the early 20th century -where some exceptions were made…and then more…and then more…

Unfortunately worldliness of the surrounding culture effected our various brothers and sisters in this area.

Yet too there have been those who have returned to full Communion with the Church via realizing the truths involved here.

The protestant church realised how ridiculous it was to class contraception as evil and came to their senses.

A no.

Rather the various Protestant communities have left what has been held from the early days of the Church …and what even the founders of the Protestant communities saw as the truth (the evil of contraception).

Things have moved on. Evil total nonsense.

The point is that taking these things into consideration does not require contraception. It may require some reduction in sex!

Oh please, give it a rest. The verse about onan that the Catholic church uses is just its interpretation . Onan was punished for not fulfilling the jewish law that required him to produce for hid dead brothers wife.

To call truth and the virtue of Chastity (rejecting contraception is part of such) - evil or nonsense is not good. Such is rather out of Orwell’s 1984.

And the Gospel and Truths of the Faith do not have an expiration date.
