I find them interesting but not compelling. If I personally experienced something like this, I would find it compelling. Otherwise, they are just stories to me.
Anythine God, authentically, sends His Mother to earth with a message for us, we should set up and take notice!! (After the Church has approved it of course.) Once it has been declared to be “Worthy of Belief,” then we know for sure it’s trustworthy. God Bless, Memaw

Being reacquainted with my Catholic faith, I have only studied Our Lady of Guadalupe in depth and find the account very compelling. What strikes me the most is that Our Lady left an image of herself, that even an Eastern Orthodox priest I know acknowledges as quite compelling, also. The Eastern Orthodox recognize an apparition of Mary where she left her veil as protection, an image they call Holy Protection.

From my understanding, the apparitions that I am familiar with, such as Lourdes and Fatima, contained messages and a ‘relationship’ with all of us, not just for those who received the messages.
👍 That’s what I was going to say!

Knock. The lack of a verbal message intrigues me, as well as the fact that Our Lady did not appear alone.

Yes that is sadly true. I am one of those Orthodox who do not support their views. It is astonishing that most Orthodox forget that Mary had requested millions of Catholics to do something and that was to pray and make sacrifice for the Russian people. If the Orthodox really want to thank God for this freedom now given to them in Russia it is to those millions of Catholics who had helped make reparation for so many. Certainly the Mother of God is also to be thanked but God could not do this without the help of so many who had responded to our Lady’s requests. Perhaps in time the Orthodox will come to be thankful when they come to realise the truth.

Fatima for me. My wife and I entered into full communion on the 85th anniversary of the miracle of the sun at Fatima. (October 13th is also my birthday).

You might want to watch the movie “The 13th Day” about Fatima if you haven’t already. Well worth watching.

👍 Our Lady of Guadalupe is my favorite as well.

And we continue to pray as OLFatima has asked us to do for the conversion of Russia and all atheists thru out the world. She warned that Russia would spread her errors (Communisum ) through out the world. And she has!!, God Bless, Memaw

As for myself, at this particular time in my spiritual journey, I find Our Lady of Kibeho most compelling. Her messages there are applicable to what is going on in the world right now. We really need to find a way to love more and hate less. The fact the massacre in Rwanda occurred just 13 years after the apparitions is prophetic.

As I was growing up, Fatima was very compelling for me. Admittedly, my interest has waned over the past several years since the consecration of Russia took place.

Guadalupe has always fascinated me due to the rapid conversion of millions to the faith. I can’t recall anytime ever in history of so many being converted over such a short period of time. It’s truly extraordinary.

One of the lesser known apparations that I found fascinating, but not necessarily as compelling includes Pontmain where Mary visited a small village and wrote messages in the sky.

Another I find compelling is the apparition in Banneux which occurred shortly after the one in Beauraing not far away from the other. Many did not believe her. Her story seems believable to me.

Yes it will be very helpful to pray and consecrate the countries of the West as it was done for the East. I am all for that. May be Pope Francis if he decides to do this will invite all the Orthodox bishops as well to join him.

May be with the older generation but I sense the newer generation coming up will pick up more than what other generations have done. It just takes time before the younger ones will discover this as more information will become available and more contacts as well. You need to wait until the younger generation becomes more informed.

The Ecumenical Patriarch has often visited the Pope and the Pope has often visited him. These contacts have become more visible since Paul VI and Athanagoros visited each other in Jerusalem in the 1960’s a first in a 1000 years that a Pope and the Patriarch seeing each other. Other contacts have been established as well as newer ones. It takes time to give these contacts the growth that will come from them. This year Pope Francis is meeting Bartholomew I in Jerusalem. These contacts are also telling the younger ones how important this is to their own search for unity. Perhaps what I have said was presumptuous but the point I was trying to make that unless contacts are made the older generation would not budge. Perhaps sometime in the future as many more contacts are made this possibility that I had said may become a reality.

👍

I voted for Our Lady of Fatima. In my opinion, this is the most important Marian visitation. However, I recently discovered Our Lady of Good Success and I would have voted for this apparition had it been available as it is very compelling.

Our Lady of Guadelupe, then followed by Fatima.
both I have read books on, The image of Our Lady of Guadelupe is so compelling.

Just curious Bob, does not the messages of our Lady of Akita have the same tone as the one from Fatima. I was thinking that this warning from her visit to Japan was actually the same warning in Fatima which had stated if the conditions do not improve within Russia that a certain collision with the use of nuclear bombs was unavoidable. May be the timing of this apparition was to reinforce some of the people within the Church to continue to pray. Since the changes have occurred now within Russia does the Vatican believe these messages from Akita still to be in effect? The situation seems to be different now as religion is now on the increase in the East but declining much in the West.
I don’t know that the prophecies at Akita specifically referred to Russia. She didn’t say so, whereas at Fatima she did (or so I understand).

We still live in a world where millions of unborn children are aborted each year, where 1.5 million children die from hunger each year, where there is rising religious tension, where there is an arms race going on in South and East Asia, where the Middle East is as unpredictable as ever, where North and South Korea are still at loggerheads, where nuclear armed Moslem Pakistan and Hindu India face off against each other, with over 17,000 nuclear weapons in nuclear stockpiles, with declining petroleum stocks, massive western debt, and all the rest.

We haven’t changed.
