The IFB’s ae more hard core than the SB’s. But the ones I’m familiar with preach against the evils of alcohol but still use wine in communion. I use this comparison to point out that those who claim to practice what they did in the N.T. are usually hypocrites. They only practice some things, those they agree with, and ignore many other things. As has been pointed out, we no longer recline for our meals even though they did in the N.T. My point is that those who use grape juice can’t really be critical of the churches who pour or sprinkle as their mode of baptism. That’s interesting. I know some IF Baptists, and they are TOTAL teetotalers, in that they believe that alcohol is evil, and when the Bible says “wine”, it means “new wine”, which they insist was unfermented, basically grape juice. I’ve found the IF Baptists way more “hard core” than the S. Baptists.
