Which religion do you find easiest to debunk?

I have only ever persuaded agnostics that God is real, so I would say atheism/agnosticism.

Please do not refer to our Faith as RCCism it is at best lazy and at worst extremely disrespectful:(
The whole tone of this thread is disrespectful to beliefs of others. May I loan a mirror to some of the posters here ?😉

SIA, making an anti-Catholic statement??
Gee - imagine that . . .
It’s fun to joke. But regardless of what offense another person causes you, rise above it instead of making fun of somebody.

Well, you usually seem to have a problem with what I post because it you don’t understand what I’m tryiong to say - as was the case on another post.

**Besides, I was merely pointing out the fact that SIA usually, if not always has something negative to say about the Catholic Church - in posts concerning the Church. **

The fact that he is banned should tell you something about his vitriol against Catholics.

what a deliciously horrible topic, i thought it would be pretty mean spirited and it didn’t dissapoint…

to answer the question, for me personally it is any religion i’ve tried earnestly to study or hang my hat on as they are all nonsensical, illogical, contradictory, thoroughly crushed by scientific evidence, and typically bear horrible fruit.

god=good, religion=very bad is my take on the matter, and that’s all religions, no one in particular is more evil or ridiculous, they are all about as evil and ridiculous.

I was just thinking, what do you find to be the easiest religion to debunk, and why do you find it easy to debunk?
islam.

But it is the hardest religion to get rid of since its adherents are so brainwashed and so easily wrap the aura of goodness and virtue around so much evil done for their god.

And it is the hardest to get our leaders to wake up and realize what it is all about. More people are more in awe over the look of the coy, virtuous looking little muslimettes and the sound of their voices that deceive us.

And they have so many of our own actually believing their facade - of course, they are too lazy to delve any deeper into their deception. Too lazy to read history and to read their own basic text and put together that - gee, it isn’t that peaceful why do they kill so many people? Why do their charities go to jihadists? Who is telling the truth - the facts or the muslims? Do they have an agenda? … it takes too much energy for them to figure all of this out and if they did they might have to do something which would require them to possibly not be ‘cool’ in the eyes of their fellow ignorant/lazy ones.

This is why I believe that Satan wouldn’t come to anyone as a vile looking creature, but instead come as something beautiful and with a soothing voice. (well, according to mohammed - his ‘angel’ tried to squish him because it was so stupid it didn’t realize that mohammed was illiterate!) Satan isn’t stupid - he hasn’t gotten so many people who are unable to smell the stench of evil underneath all his promises of carnal pleasures. Satan cannot promise anything spiritually higher - only carnal lusts.

Fallacies can only be debunked TO people who are open to honest information. If one is open to the truth then you can receive truth.

The same logical and theological reasoning that showed me that Mormonism is false would debunk it to anyone who was open to the truth.
that’s what I said. It’s easy to debunk something to someone who already agrees with you.

I personally know people who claim to have debunked the idea that the earth is round. (Lancaster being the official home of the Flat Earth Society as WELL as the official home, for many decades, of the space program)

The easiest: Any religion or faith path which occurs AFTER the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, the Christ. If Jesus was/is who he says he was/is, and spoke the truth, then created His Church, and sent out the Apostles, well, that’s pretty much it. There’s enough to that to make for an eternity of study, worship and praise. The truth of Jesus Christ, once accepted in it’s fullness renders Islam, Mormonism, the thousands of protestant splinter groups, (Not to mention Jehovahs Witness, Scientology, Urantia, Castaneda, and the millions of new agey groups, and individual “don’t need a church” folks), obsolete belief systems to at least some extent.

If Jesus was NOT who he says he was, then there’s no point in Catholocism or Orthodoxy either. I finally came on board, and believed the fullness of Jesus Christ at 48 years old. Whether or not anyone will listen, or accept the debunking, the post Catholic Christian paths are self-debunked in the way I understand things.

The hardest: The pre-Christian faiths. They provide a rich puzzle, and are fascinating brain food about the evolution of the relationship between God and man resulting eventually in the incarnation. Of particular significance is the Buddha and his teachings, and of course the Jewish people, and their journey through the old covenant. It’s not really a question of debunking pre-Christian faiths, but rather using them as a point of reference, and understanding in theology, and the incarnation. Figuring out where they fit in the big picture.

Post Christian? I’m just not buying it anymore. I have to ask myself, what’s the point, really? None of them are supported, once you understand the incarnation, or at least in the way that I’ve been blessed to see the incarnation. And this, mind you, is the conclusion of someone who’s been at least a passing member of more than one new age philoslophical school of thought, including Scientology and Urantia over the course of my life. Live and learn.

My prayers will always be with those who still struggle with fighting through all this stuff. Some of the modern fath paths can be pretty intoxicating, and intellectually fascinating until you find their ultimate emptiness. They can really get a grip on you.

The best thing, I’ve found, was just taking a real stand on the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the existence of Trinity. Those are the biggies. If you fall on the ‘yes’ side of that equation, it knocks off most paths instantly.

If everyone would just simply pray on Christ, and what/who He was/is, then the Holy Spirit will eventually make it clear enough. As long as the heart is open, and you’re willing to accept the very challenging answers that you will no longer be able to comfortably dismiss.

Peace to all, Wherever you’re at with this. The journey must be very important, or we’d all just be born pre-converted. There’s a definite reason why there’s so much chatter and flak on the wires. We must need to exercise discernment. And that can take a life time. It did for me anyway. I sometimes feel slightly envious about young converts, but then I remember two things.
  1. Envy is a sin. What am I doing? 😉
  2. Each person has a different journey of the heart, and different crosses and tasks to perform to find the truth. The diversity of the journey, I believe, is somehow tied in with the whole point of life. It may also be a form of purgation?
With love,

Steven

Do you hold it as a truth that one may show disrespect to others while demanding respect for oneself.?
You know, I have never heard any Catholic DEMANDING anything. I do hear it from the muslims though.

I don’t hear it from the Buddhists (I read your profile and it says you are a Buddhist), I don’t hear it from the Hindus, or Jews, or anyone else like I hear it from the muslims.

I just never hear such a thing. We are bashed all the time and just take it. In fact, way too many Christians are dying from persecution and I still don’t hear anyone of us DEMANDING anything. Unlike the muslims who have actually gone to the UN to try to shut us up.

I have never heard any other religious group do that. Try to censor anyone else in other countries. Keep in mind that these ones who are trying to shut us up have the worst human rights abuses on this globe, but don’t want us to associate islam with them even though sharia laws are based on islam’s koran and mohammed’s example.

Catholicism, as it veers off the Scriptural path in so many instances.
The Bible proceeds from the Catholic Church. Every time you acknowledge the Bible as the word of God you acknowledge the authority of the Catholic Church.

The truth is God, not myself.

Do you acknowledge and honor God?
\

Let me rephrase. Do you believe it is proper to show disrespect to others while demanding respect for oneself.?

I acknowledge and honor all living beings.

They wont close it because the Catholics are bashing other religions. Threads only close here when the Catholic Church is challenged. Kind of the same approach they used to hide pedophile priests.
That is not true. I have been on threads of other religions that were closed.

“You know, I have never heard any Catholic DEMANDING anything”
 :rotfl:
Please provide proof, instances, or some examples where the Catholics have DEMANDED anything.

The Pope has ASKED repeatedly, as have others even in Russia!!, for the muslims to stop persecuting non-muslims in their lands. (The muslims in Russia wanted a mosque and they said as soon as saudi arabia erects a Church.)

Asking and demanding are two different things. While the muslims are even going to the UN to shut everyone up in countries not even their own in discussing islam while they still preach hatred, draw cartoons of others to dehumanize them, etc - no other has shown such audacity. Only foolish countries will follow that law, and it seems one foolish nation is following it - Holland - and will take Geert Wilders to court soon.

And no one demands from the muslims the same behavior that they are demanding.

I already posted a website to show you what the UN is doing and has passed through. That is where you got the sentence that you were laughing at.

Like I said - give me some examples of Catholics DEMANDING anything.
