Hi

Our friend ralphinal has very kindly asked as to what was Noah’s religion in another thread.

I quote here from Quran:

[42:10] Have they taken for themselves protectors other than Him? But it is Allah Who is the real Protector. And He quickens the dead, and He has power over all things.

[42:11] And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof rests with Allah. Say: ‘Such is Allah, my Lord; in Him I put my trust, and to Him I always turn.’

[42:12] He is the Maker of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you pairs of your own selves, and of the cattle also He has made pairs. He multiplies you therein. There is nothing whatever like unto Him; and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.

[42:13] To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He enlarges the provision for whomsoever He pleases and straitens it for whomsoever He pleases. Surely, He knows all things full well.

[42:14] He has prescribed for you the religion which He enjoined on Noah, and which We have revealed to thee, and which We enjoined on Abraham and Moses and Jesus, saying, ‘Remain steadfast in obedience, and be not divided therein. Hard upon the idolaters is that to which thou callest them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He pleases, and guides to Himself him who turns to Him.’

[42:15] And they did not become divided but after knowledge had come to them, through jealousy among themselves. And had it not been for a word that had already gone forth from thy Lord for an appointed term, the matter would surely have been decided between them. And surely those who were made to inherit the Book after them are in a disquieting doubt concerning it.

[42:16] To this, then, do thou invite mankind. And be thou steadfast as thou art commanded, and follow not their evil inclinations, but say, ‘I believe in whatever Book Allah has sent down, and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us is the reward of our works, and for you the reward of your works. There is no quarrel between us and you. Allah will gather us together, and to Him is the return.’

[42:17] And those who dispute concerning Allah after He has been accepted — their dispute is futile in the sight of their Lord; and on them is God’s wrath and for them will be a severe punishment.

[42:18] Allah it is Who has sent down the Book with truth and also the Balance. And what will make thee know that the Hour may be near at hand?

Show us what Noah said himself.

Besides, there is another possible answer…

May the OP please define first what he/she meant by religion here in this thread?

There’s only one true revealed religion.

It’s not Islam.

It’s Christianity.

Period.

The earliest, still-surviving revealed religion: Zoroastrianism (c. 6000 BCE – though some sources say 1600 BCE). Then again, Zarathustra lived in an Perso-Vedic context, so perhaps the Vedic Tradition (c. 8000 BCE) would be earlier. Then again, Jain teachers are mentioned in the Vedas, so perhaps the Jain Tradition (c. 10,000 BCE) would be earlier.

Hi

This thread has been started in response to a query of our friend ralphinal. I don’t know what he has in is mind.

I would define a religion started strictly under the Word of Revelation from the mouth of GodAllahYHWH by a Messenger of GodAllahYHWH. If it is not revealed as defined by me above then it does not merit to be considered a religion, in my opinion.

This is what I think presently believe which could be revised if I am convinced otherwise.

Thanks

Hi

I understand the aboriginese of Australia are said to have received revelation much earlier (c. 15,000 BCE);perhaps their Adam was different than the Adam of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Thanks

That’s a huge and unwarranted assumption.

Who is to say that Satan could not have revealed a false religion?

And given the huge variance between religions that claim to be “revealed”, either they all can’t be, or the revealer was an inconsistent liar, rather than God Almight as He has indeed revealed Himself.

Blessings,

Gerry

Hi

Kindly note I never said that all revealed religions are truthful in their present form, that could be corrupted by its followers with the passage of time; but I say that they were truthful when they were started under the original Word of Revelation.

I think you get my point now.

Thanks

You have a weak definition of “religion”. To qualify as a true religion, an ideology has to embrace the Golden Rule that springs from the idea that the Creator loves everyone equally. In Christianity it comes from the teaching that man is created in the image and likeness of God. “The Hindu god lord Krishna, for example, says, ‘In my eye, every human being is equal – no one is my favorite and no one is detestable to Me.’”

Only in Islam is there no concept that on some level all are equal in their humanity.

“But in the eyes of Allah, not all human beings are equal. He is kind to Muslims alone; to the non-Muslims, he is an extremely cruel despot, a cruel brute. Allah undoubtedly is extremely biased to his children, unfitting of a true God. … ‘If the God of Qur’an had been the protector of all creatures and dispenser of forgiveness and mercy to all, he would not have commanded the Muslims to kill the people of other religions.’ This factor led him to the natural conclusion that, ‘The Qur’an does not appear to have been made by God. It is doubtless that Allah is a god only for the Muslims and not for the entire humanity. … The behavioral pattern of Allah, as reflected in the Koran, reveals him as a partisan deity, similar to a Mafia don or the leader of a criminal gang, who seeks to gain control over the entire world to establish himself as its sole ruler through bloodshed and terror.”[1] … all the so-called “revelations” notwithstanding.

Hi

Kindly quote a verse from Quran in this regard; with five verses preceding and five following for the usual context to make your point, please.

I love Jesus and Mary as I love Buddha and Krishna

Thanks

Can you show us how any of these were revealed by God to man?

What would be a sign that God has revealed something to man? What should one look for in a religion that might be God-revealed?
Ah, that is an excellent question.

I would say that a religion would be a revealed religion if it was taught to man by God. If it developed, it may be inspired but not revealed.

I would say that a revealed religion should not conflict too much with another one. That would also mean that a revealed religion that comes after one that has been revealed should not say that the first is incorrect.

paarsurrey, If i received revelation from God, would I then be deemed to have started a religion?

How many people do I have to share this with for it to qualify as a religion in your opinion?
