I think you get my point now.
paarsurrey, If i received revelation from God, would I then be deemed to have started a religion?

How many people do I have to share this with for it to qualify as a religion in your opinion?
Hi

First you have to take persmission from GodAllahYHWH; and if he does not allow, please, don’t do it. As per deutrenomy GodAllahYHWH would arrage that you get killed.

Thanks

Hi

This thread has been started in response to a query of our friend ralphinal. I don’t know what he has in is mind.

I would define a religion started strictly under the Word of Revelation from the mouth of GodAllahYHWH by a Messenger of GodAllahYHWH. If it is not revealed as defined by me above then it does not merit to be considered a religion, in my opinion.

This is what I think presently believe which could be revised if I am convinced otherwise.

Thanks
Although there is no witness whatsoever to that Messenger of GodAllahYHWH. And, we do not ask for proof, nor should we wait and see for the fruit of such teaching. And, all we have to do is follow without question.

Zoroastrianism is a good call for ‘revealed’ monotheism, even though it was, formally speaking, somewhat dualistic, but not especially more so than plenty of modern monotheists who live in fear of the Devil, so yeah. Modern Zoroastrians are as monotheistic as the next monotheistic guy, pretty much.

Another candidate could also be Atonism, the faith espoused by and possibly ‘revealed’ to Akhnaton in ancient Egypt, a form of solar worship, but considerably more philosophical and intellectually complex than any previous monotheistic religions of record that I can think of.

But if you aren’t speaking solely of monotheists…oh my hm…let me think and look up a few things before I answer, since I’m not even sure about dates, or what, exactly, some of you mean by ‘revealed.’

hi

Jewdisam is the first revealed religion. It predates all other religions. Sure the term “Jew” did not exist before other religions , but the belief and faith did. This is why Abraham (a hebrew) His great-great…grandfather (also a hebrew) and Noah and other propthets of God had all the similar beliefs, thus believing in the same religion. Then came Jesus and fullfiled the Religion He revealed to our fathers. This religion we now is called Catholism

remember: people lie, history dosen`t:thumbsup:

I would agree that Judaism is the first revealed religion. Adam, Noah, and Abraham were not Jews, in the strict sense. Jews are descended from Isreal, who is a descendent of those three.

A religion is a means by which man worships God and understands Creation and God. Because of the relationship between GOd and Adam, Adam would have needed no religion, he had face to face interaction. As man drifted farther from the Garden, that connection became more and more remote. Noah, for example, still had direct communication with God. He did not, however, seem to have any codified faith system (religion). Abraham was the same way.

The Jewish faith was not revealed until Moses received the law from God.

As far as the other revealed faiths others have listed, how do they compair with Judaism? How different is their creation story?

I think he gets my point in my opinion:)

Thanks.

Grace and Peace,

We all seem to be dancing around in this thread.

Prehaps the wise thing to do is to define what we consider ‘religion’ and then what we consider ‘revealed’, then we can put the two definitions together to determine what we all mean by ‘revealed religion’.

Anyone care to offer up a definition for either?

Hi

I think I gave the definition for my thinking. I repeat here:

Maybe ralphinal has some other definition.

There is an old hindi text which speaks of creation which appears to predate any other written revelation currently known. Of course we don’t have access to everything which has ever been written nor do we know everything which has been revealed by God so I’m not sure what the purpose of this speculation is suppose to determine?

What is the ultimate point to this exercise?

FYI: Zoroastrianism dates at best back to 1,000 B.C and at worst to 500 B.C… It’s not the oldest at all, and the misconception is due to a popular desperation among some writers for Christianity to not be true.

Zoroastrianism dates way before 1000 BCE. Even scholars admit that it dates at least to 1200 BCE. Zoroastrian scripture and the Vedas are similar, indicating similar ages. And since we know that Krishna’s town of Dwarka submerged around 1600 BCE, and Krishna himself spoke of the Vedas, that would put the Vedas (and Zoroastrianism) at least in the 2000 BCE range.

Whether Zoroastrianism dates to 2000 BCE or not, has no relation to whether Christianity (or Judaism) is true or not.

Ah, that is an excellent question.

I would say that a religion would be a revealed religion if it was taught to man by God.
How does one prove that?
If it developed, it may be inspired but not revealed.
I would say that a revealed religion should not conflict too much with another one.
Islam doesn’t conflict too much with Judaism, some might argue
That would also mean that a revealed religion that comes after one that has been revealed should not say that the first is incorrect.
I don’t know of many major religions that claim that previously revealed religions were simply “incorrect”. The terms used might be “not sufficiently fully revealed” or “not fully adapted for the new and current age”. E.g., Baha’is don’t say that Islam is incorrect, but that Islam is not the revelation that God presently intends for humanity.

Sorry, that’s not true. And I agree Zoroastrianism’s age has nothing to do with the truth of Christianity, which is why it’s frustrating when people sometimes think it does and are fooled by the bad chronology that fools you.

Hi

I started this thread as our friend ralphinal had asked me questions on this several times and insisted my response. I don’t mind.

He might had some idea which has been lost with my response, perhaps.

Please ask him about the purpose of his questions and then insistence on it.

Well I think the thread is interesting though; and the discussion brings new useful information.

Thanks

How does one prove that?
Good question. I would say that we should be able to compare scriptures and sacred text. The more conflcit, the less likely

Muslims do. Judaism is corrupt and a failure. Christianity is corrupted and incorrect. Muslims will tell you that the Jews changed the word of God and created a false faith. They will also tell you that Paul did the same for Christianty.

Hi

I will like to quote from Quran in this connection to clarify position of Muslims:

[5:44] And how will they make thee their judge when they have with them the Torah, wherein is Allah’s judgment? Yet, in spite of that they turn their backs; and certainly they will not believe.

[5:45] Surely, We sent down the Torah wherein was guidance and light. By it did the Prophets, who were obedient to Us, judge for the Jews, as did the godly people and those learned in the Law; for they were required to preserve the Book of Allah, and because they were guardians over it. Therefore fear not men but fear Me; and barter not My Signs for a paltry price. And whoso judges not by that which Allah has sent down, these it is who are the disbelievers.

[5:46] And therein We prescribed for them: A life for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and a tooth for a tooth, and for other injuries equitable retaliation. And whoso waives the right thereto, it shall be an expiation for his sins; and whoso judges not by what Allah has sent down, these it is who are wrongdoers.

[5:47] And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, fulfilling that which was revealed before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel which contained guidance and light, fulfilling that which was revealed before it in the Torah, and a guidance and an admonition for the God-fearing.

[5:48] And let the People of the Gospel judge according to what Allah has revealed therein, and whoso judges not by what Allah has revealed, these it is who are the rebellious.

[5:49] And We have revealed unto thee the Book comprising the truth and fulfilling that which was revealed before it in the Book, and as a guardian over it. Judge, therefore, between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their evil inclinations, turning away from the truth which has come to thee. For each of you We prescribed a clear spiritual Law and a manifest way in secular matters. And if Allah had enforced His will, He would have made you all one people, but He wishes to try you by that which He has given you. Vie, then, with one another in good works. To Allah shall you all return; then will He inform you of that wherein you differed.

I think Quran clarifies the position of Muslims.
Does it not? I think you agree, no compulsion.

I love Jesus and Moses

Thanks

What if God did allow?

Are you saying God would allow another religion to pop up?
