Which religion is the earliest revealed religion?

Hi

I will like to quote from Quran in this connection to clarify position of Muslims:

[5:44] And how will they make thee their judge when they have with them the Torah, wherein is Allah’s judgment? Yet, in spite of that they turn their backs; and certainly they will not believe.

[5:45] Surely, We sent down the Torah wherein was guidance and light. By it did the Prophets, who were obedient to Us, judge for the Jews, as did the godly people and those learned in the Law; for they were required to preserve the Book of Allah, and because they were guardians over it. Therefore fear not men but fear Me; and barter not My Signs for a paltry price. And whoso judges not by that which Allah has sent down, these it is who are the disbelievers.

[5:46] And therein We prescribed for them: A life for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and a tooth for a tooth, and for other injuries equitable retaliation. And whoso waives the right thereto, it shall be an expiation for his sins; and whoso judges not by what Allah has sent down, these it is who are wrongdoers.

[5:47] And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, fulfilling that which was revealed before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel which contained guidance and light, fulfilling that which was revealed before it in the Torah, and a guidance and an admonition for the God-fearing.

[5:48] And let the People of the Gospel judge according to what Allah has revealed therein, and whoso judges not by what Allah has revealed, these it is who are the rebellious.

[5:49] And We have revealed unto thee the Book comprising the truth and fulfilling that which was revealed before it in the Book, and as a guardian over it. Judge, therefore, between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their evil inclinations, turning away from the truth which has come to thee. For each of you We prescribed a clear spiritual Law and a manifest way in secular matters. And if Allah had enforced His will, He would have made you all one people, but He wishes to try you by that which He has given you. Vie, then, with one another in good works. To Allah shall you all return; then will He inform you of that wherein you differed.

I think Quran clarifies the position of Muslims.
Does it not? I think you agree, no compulsion.

I love Jesus and Moses

Thanks
This may be one of those cases where the words and the acts do not line up.

I doubt very seriously if most Muslims consider Judaism to be as valid as Islam. After all, do you not also teach that Jews altered the words of the Scripture? Is it not written that they are corruptors of their faith?

Hi

That is also written in the Quran:

[2:76] Do you expect that they will believe you when a party of them hear the word of Allah, then pervert it after they have understood it, and they know the consequences thereof ?
[2:77] And when they meet those who believe, they say: ‘We believe,’ and when they meet one another in private, they say: ‘Do you inform them of what Allah has unfolded to you, that they may thereby argue with you before your Lord? Will you not then understand?’

So, which is it? Was Judaism revealed by God or is it a faith that was corrupted by men and is no longer what God intended?

Define “religion”

The oldest “religious” artifacts are totems and venus figurines dating back over 12k - 15k bc.

bce/ce is so lame.

Show us what Noah said himself.

Besides, there is another possible answer…

Historically, Judaism (I think) - if the OP wishes to interpret the history theologically, so as to make Islam the answer, that’s his privilege: but it is a theological, not an historical, answer, that he’s giving 🙂

But Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye,’ and, ‘A tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you not to resist the evildoer; on the contrary, if someone strike thee on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if anyone would go to law with thee and take thy tunic, let him take thy cloak as well; and whoever forces thee to go for one mile, go with him two. To him who asks of thee, give; and from him who would borrow of thee, do not turn away.” (Math 5:33-42)

In the statement “We caused Jesus…”, who are the “We” in that statement? It certainly refer to more than one person.

Kindly quote a verse from Quran in this regard; with five verses preceding and five following for the usual context to make your point, please.
Not until you tell me what makes five the magic number.

You want me to quote the part of the Quran where it doesn’t have the Golden Rule? I’d have to quote the whole Quran.

I’m saying that Islam does not have any version of the Golden Rule. If you can prove otherwise, kindly quote a verse from Quran in this regard; with five verses preceding and five following for the usual context to make your point, please. Otherwise, I will assume I’m correct.
