Satan, the father of lies and murder, is certainly in the Whitehouse, influencing those in charge there. Satan has always been happy to hide an ounce of lie under a pound of truth. While the bill may not directly speak of public funding for abortion, it is definitely there implicitly. Those in the Whitehouse, and the majority of our Congress, are unwitting (hopefully) instruments if Satan in this case.

Isn’t it sad how polarized the USA has become? It’s as if the expectation on the part of the power class is that as long as they continue to insist the sky is yellow, their loyal followers will continue to believe it. Why don’t people (and reporters specifically) actually READ the bills and SEE how the general populace WILL be funding abortions through their health insurance premiums.
The white house can deny that those are ‘federal funds’ until they are blue in the face. But their sophistry only fools the illiterate and those already brainwashed. You can’t just segregate the dollars into a separate bucket and say it ISN’T federal funding for abortion and expect people to respect your integrity!

When is a lie most believable?
When it is a half truth.
The Dems are saying that the Hyde Ammendment will prevent abortion coverage expenditures. Except that the Hyde Ammendment doesn’t relate to the funding.
My only hope is that the Democrats so thoroughly screw things up in the next half a year that they won’t have the chance of a snowball in hell of maintaining a majority in the next election, and that Obama will so completely nail himself in the foot that he will be a one term president.
Right now, they look like they are doing a good job.
Medicare already was losing doctors. The use of Medicare funds to fund the rest of this will eventually seep into the skulls of those Medicare was designed to serve. Tick off enough of the voting population, they wake up.

They have no intention of keeping abortion out of this issue and out of the health insurance reform; it is their opportunity to overturn Hyde without a vote. Anyone who paid any attention at all to what Obama said during the campaign, and who he said it to, would know that he intends that there will be no restrictions on abortion.What I find most interesting is this. Their whole process has been designed to ram something through without anyone having the time or the ability to even read the documents; it has all been fast tracked (all meaning most of the work they have rammed through - Carbon Cap, the Bailout, Health insurance changes). If they could work up enough speed and momentum, they could pass anything they wanted and the rest of us would be left standing around saying “What happened? Did something happen? I don’t understand.” with nary a clue.
Why are they depending on Hyde? Because they read the polls too; they see support for open ended any time abortion slipping in the polls, and they intend fully to play a pea under the walnut shell game with the public through speed, out right lies, partial lies, and the hubris they feel and are exercising based on their majority status, and the outright hate and emotional steam that has built up in the public over Bush and the Iraq War. People (well, at least some) know that the Hyde Ammendment prohibits the Government from spending money spent through HHS and Labor for abortions. Hyde does not prevent the money being spent elsewhere to accomplish the same thing. So they hide behind Hyde hoping that we are fools enough to not figure it out; and they outright lie.
David Wu, the congressman from the area west of Portland came out, and basically got his butt handed to him in town hall meetings. I don’t think he had a clue how upset people are over these issues. The whole bunch running around in the Capitol are off in a fantasy world totally detached from the people they are supposed to be representing. It is as if they passed through a portal into Wonderland - or fell down the rabbit hole.
