I hope this thread is meant to comment positively about the White House Christmas decorations!

This is an American tradition that First Ladies have practiced for decades, and I think it’s wonderful!

Well, I thought my scarecrows could be Thanksgiving like. DH didn’t agree.

We have a lovely Thanksgiving wreath. We just didn’t put it out this year.

First Ladies have been responsible for this for decades. There is an entire team of volunteers who come in and get the decorations up in two or three days.

It’s tradition. And Americans want to see their White House lookin’ sharp.

And there are plenty of “giveaways” at Christmas time. Stripping the White House down to a minimal decor at Christmastime would disappoint many and help few.

If our First Lady wishes to wear a coat indoors, that’s her business. Maybe it’s cold in those rooms. Trying to conserve energy, maybe they keep the thermostats low. Whatever – the hate mongers need to quit picking on her. She’s a lovely lady and much more gracious than they’ll ever be.
