The classic way one knows if a witness is telling the truth examines whether the testimony is harmful to the witness but he testifies anyway.
Sonderland knew the consequences of the truth.
Vindman, I think he had reason to be surprised.
Espy made a statement that he would be protected and insulated from reprisal or vindictive action.
Obviously Espy put his tale between his legs. The way the rest of the GOP did during the Impeachment trial.

He was fired. He was perp walked out fo the WH. An active duty military officer walked out by security.

Sondland was fired too. You don’t think that was at Trump’s direction?

This is like if there were a story saying that a bank robber used a red car and someone else says the robber didn’t have a red car. It was maroon, therefore the story was falsified.
 
Vindman was promised no retaliation by the Secretary of defense ESPY.
ESPY hasn’t said a word yet.
That is betrayal of the entire military

Yeah. Really the question is was it a petty action in retaliation for testifying in the impeachment hearings.
 
In increments the baldfaced denial of brute fact is precisely a reason Trump is accused of moving us toward totalitarianism.
We already know he has removed himself from Constitutional checks and balances.
The Senate trial was the clearest example in American history.
Trump need never cooperate with Congressional oversight again. And won’t. And if Congress does an end around because brave men and women testify against his edicts, Trump has made it clear he will place their heads on a spit.
These are not vague acts that can represent alternate explanations. They are precisely elimination of the Constitutional check on the awesome power of the presidency.
Now, he is testing limits to absolute power.
Congress issues a law and allocated funds, he substitutes his will for that of the legislative branch. McConnell and the GOP SENATORS fail to reassert their power, and their power is taken. It does not exist.
The DOJ is run by an AG who says, ," the president can not even be investigated for crime. The remedy of impeachment is rendered a farce with predetermined verdicts and agreements to have no witnesses or evidence. THE PURPOSE OF WHICH is to keep the American people blind to the truth.
Trump supporters have shown they prefer a monarch because at the moment the monarch is from the new STATE party.

Make normal an ever increasing breath of totalitarian rule.
Why not? Nothing exists to stop it.
The willingness to disband the Constitution is equally apparent to all who pay attention. So what motivated Americans to go along with disbanding the Constitutional framework?
Taxes? Nope! They have no problem with taxes or deficits, they are motivated to redistribute to wealthy Americans.
Social issues and religious freedom is motivated by the political power it provides for many. At the time of ROE V WADE, Protestants were overjoyed by the pro choice victory. As the ability to limit minority voting dried up, via the voting rights act, Sola Scriptura magically revealed a passage that made them pro life. The unborn were their new mechanism in the voting booth.
State run TV is online via Fox and the alternative facts media.
It is all in place. So what is the motivation to abandon the 250 year experiment? We all know. I don’t need to type it

Espy has an obligation to speak out and resign if necessary

The Constitution is only used as a weapon against a political opponent when the strategy calls for it. Otherwise, both parties basically ignore it. Democrats despise it. Republicans walk all over it. If you support either of the major parties then it’s just an inconvenience to you.
 
Totalitarian governments turn those promises, and the status as decorated war hero, to long time enemy of the people, in hours. At the whim of a supreme leader.
Exactly what happened here.
State TV is issued an immediate discredit campaign, and the hero is tagged with enemy accusations stated as fact.
We need only watch the movie 1984 to see exactly how it works. It hasn’t been a secret for a century.

That isn’t true. In America generations of brave men gave their lives to protect it.
What is true is it is always under assault by ambitious men who despise it. But there are still good men, Republican and Democrat who believe in it intensely. They won’t go away

Can’t trust how? Like if he trades the launch codes to Russia for example, can’t trust seems to mean willing to betray the people and their families.
Can’t trust will always matter when illegal things happen.
Can’t trust is an organized crime idea. Omerta.
