Who’s ‘godless’ now? Russia says it’s U.S

Just saw a photo on BBC of Putin lighting candles to sacred Icons. Russia has returned to God
Will wait a long time till we see the great abortionist and promoter of sodomy Obama performing a similar act of submission and dedication to our Blessed Virgin.
Obama goes to church now and then. Lighting a few candles doesn’t mean any more than that. And abortion is fully legal in Russia, where the abortion rate is far higher than that in the U.S. The regular churchgoing in the U.S. is far higher than that in Russia.

Let’s not assume too much based on too little evidence.

Though there are a few things that a Catholic might find disagreeable in the OP, I agree with much of what is stated. Putin, in particular, understands firsthand what the ramifications of atheistic communism did to his country. He’s trying to change that.

Our country, which at one time was fairly Christian, is now turning toward the same errors that the former Soviet Union held at one time - that secular humanism is the best way to govern a society - though in the former USSR, it was practiced in an extreme form. We haven’t yet reaped the harvest of a complete breakdown of religious values here yet. But given that we’re headed in that direction, there’s great cause for concern.
Dear Denise1957,

Cordial greetings and a very good day. Hear, hear to your above remarks, absolutely bang on target.

Homosexual ‘marriage’ has just become legal in England and Wales - a deeply mournful time in the history of this once favoured Christian isle. No government can redefine the Holy Sacrament of Marriage and to do so is an act of consummate wickedness which witnesses to a nations moral degradation. The citizens of Britian should feel deeply unhappy and indignant regarding the allowance of this evil in our midst and earnestly pray for national repentance. Our moral and cultural deterioration ought to make us hang our heads in shame.

When, dear friend, vice of any sort is allowed to reign in a nation it puts a disgrace upon it and renders it despicable in the sight of other nations. This is, alas, precisely what is happening as regards Britian and other ‘progressively thinking’ Western nations. Thus it is hardly surprising that President Putin speaks as he does, for he understands the damage that is occasioned by a godless secular humanism. Governments, if they are to qualify for God’s favour, must employ their power for the suppression of vice and support of virtue - “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Prov. 14: 34).

God bless.

Warmest good wishes,

Abortin was legal under the old communist system.
It was not legalised by Putin
Putin has made clear his objection to gay rights
We all know what President Obama and Michelle think of gay rights
So I think some assumptions are reasonable Don;t you.

Most people don’t want this but are called homophobic, bigots, intolerant etc. when they disagree with it.

In my opinion the one square mile anti vatican 'city" of london is pushing this unwanted policy…across the globe…we need Prince Charles to make a stand and return to The Catholic church which would end the influence of the city…I think its the city of london through the masons who are demanding these changes with the debt being used as a military weapon…an antichrist in action. This tower of babel will fall as its like a Goliath making insults at anything Godly…but that pebble in a sling can come from nowhere expected…

How about you F U C K OFF. The church or any other cult have no right to tell us what we can and can’t do and if you have a problem with that then put a bullet in your brain.

Dear Nelka,

Cordial greetings and a very good day. Thankyou for your response.

Indeed, this is very true and it is becoming jolly difficult to entertain negative views respecting homosexual vice/marriage without being branded an intolerant religious fanatic. One only has to listen to the ‘talk radio’ stations such LBC National and they will notice that all of the presenters are in favour of this abominable and unnatural vice. Those callers who oppose homosexual vice/marriage from deeply held religious convictions are humiliated and then unceremoniously dumped, yet these ‘progressive’ presenters vociferate much about tolerance and unfair discrimination.

However, dear friend, I do believe that there has been an unhealthy and worrying shift in attitudes here in Britain. A YouGov poll in 2012 showed that 43% of people supported homosexual ‘marriage’, whilst 32% supported so called ‘civil partnerships’. Sadly, only 16% were opposed to homosexual relationships entirely and the support proved to be highest among women - a trend that has apparently continued in recent research findings. A BBC Radio 5 ComRes survey of 1,007 people on the eve of the first legal homosexual ‘weddings’ in Britain, revealed that 68% agreed that they should be permitted, whilst only 26% opposed them. Even the homosexual rights pressure group, Stonewall, said that public attitudes were “incredibly positive”.

Regrettably it does rather seem, dear friend, that the British public are embracing a more socially liberal attitude as regards homosexual vice/marriage, with only a relatively small minority disapproving or feeling deeply uncomfortable with it. It is imperative that this lowered public opinion is raised and this is why the Catholic Church here must denounce this wicked piece of legislation at every opportunity - “in season and out of season” - as a blasphemous caricature of the Sacrament of Marriage. Moreover, the Church must declare that it is undermining authentic family life and therefore does not promote the moral well-being of our country. It is not for the government of the day to redefine marriage based on the warped ideology of a spurious egalitarianism.

God bless and let all those who name the name of Christ pray earnestly for Great Britain at this very dark period in its history. Let us pour out our ardent prayers before Almighty God, pleading with Him for His mercy and forgiveness. May this wicked piece of legislation even now be repealed and may we consider afresh the monumental mistake of decriminalizing homosexual vice in 1967, for it has brought us to the dreadful plight in which we now find ourselves.

And why should anyone give a F U C K about what the church thinks? Marriage is a legal contract which means that the government gets to say which marriages are valid not a religion.

What are you talking about?

What you say about London is ridiculous!

Do you know what goes on in our country? Do you not realise how Parliament works? Do you know how many gays/lesbians there are in Government at this time?

:banghead:

:hmmm: I don’t really listen to such polls, I know too many people that are 100% against this abomination and yet are too scared to say so due to the mud-slinging. In my last job there was a gay couple who would talk about the things they did with each other in the canteen and people were too scared to tell them to shut up through fear of being labelled homophobic and getting suspended.

I realise a lot of people just don’t care either way, and I know a lot of it depends on how the question is asked. Some people don’t care if a gay couple want to be together but they just don’t want to see them kissing etc.

Another problem is people believing what gay people peddle that it is all about love which is ridiculous because we all love our family but don’t do sexual things with them.

It is a shame, what saddens me is David Cameron says he uses the Bible as a moral compass. How does that work with this then?

We need Putin as Prime Minister.

Nelka; said:
I think you’re at some distance from that. He has only taken over Crimea, part of Georgia and part of Moldova so far. Well, Belarus is effectively part of Russia now. But he will have to devour the rest of Ukraine, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands before he will rule you. That’s going to take time.

And if he does, of course, you will be obliged to be Russian Orthodox, you know. Catholicism is discouraged in Russia, and if Putin controlled all of Europe? The Russian orthodox Church does not accept that Catholicism can be anywhere in Europe other than the city of Rome and some of the countryside around it.

Be careful what you wish for.

My point is that the ‘city’ of londpn had a huge influence on policy…there is an aweful lot of info out there regarding our offshore city etc and its lobby across the globe through imf etc and in my opinion the targeted policy making to downgrade morality does link to the moneymakers and the international corps…its not just about gay marriage.

Right. I’m sure the Catholics of the Crimea would disagree on the merits of having Putin as “their” prime minister.
