As the months slowly pass by, the day for receiving Confirmation gets nearer for me, I’m starting to realize more and more just how much I love my faith. It’s taken a long road to get this far, and I feel I’ve really grown spiritually. And I’m no doubt going to grow more in the future as well.

One thing I really love and am really grateful for is being able to “choose” a patron saint. Though, you know, it’s not really us choosing. We’re really finding a life-long friend that we can always come to. They’ll have our backs for sure! So that leads to the question of, how did you stumble across your patron saint? I’d love to know. 😃

For me personally, as my username implies, I’ve chosen Saint Camillus de Lellis as my patron. He’s really cool, but all the saints are. But for me, I feel really drawn to him. Though, I think if I ever get to meet him in Heaven, I might have to apologize for laughing at first when I first initially came to know him. He’s a giant! 6’6" tall, and I just had a hoot imagining this guy bending over to even get inside my house.

So, care to tell your stories?

St. Brigid of Kildare (hence the username 🙂 ) I chose her for a couple of reasons.
  1. She’s Irish and I’m Irish.
  2. She was close to animals and I love animals

I was received into the Church in September 2009… After much prayer, I chose Michael Patrick … St. Michael, or my guardian angel, has protected me from conception to this date… The first was when I was 18 months and I followed my mother across a busy road… I was run over by a large dump truck, but the truck never touched me… The driver stopped, looked at my mother in shock; then saw that I was OK. >> Well St. Michael has been there many, many more times…

St. Patrick is Irish & my grandmother is from Ireland… He is also the great evangelist. A Bishop that got is hands dirty helping Ireland become a Christian Nation.

Um, holy moly what a miracle!

I’ll have to look her up! She sounds like an amazing saint. 👍
St. John.

It was my mother’s request. It was my mother’s second choice for my first name.
St. John is awesome. 😃

 Wow! Glad to know you’re safe and sound.Really interesting story, thanks for sharing!

St. Veronica.

I love the story of her profound compassion for Christ.

I chose St. Christopher who was also a “giant of a man.” But I chose the name because it means “Christ-bearer” and I like to aspire to that vocation.

The story of St. Veronica and her love for Christ is indeed a wonderful one. Beautiful saint! :yup:

I haven’t heard of St. Christopher before! Thank you for telling me about him. 🙂

St. Stanislaus Kostka.

My aunt was a nun and in those days picked a male saints name and I ended up using the same saint as some of my family were from Poland.

St Vincent Pallotti.

My parents were friends will a local chapter house of the Pallotine Fathers. I always enjoyed hearing stories of their mission work.

I had to ask my mom! LoL is that terrible?
I knew it was St Therese, but wich one? We both agreed that I must have been The Little Flower, St Therese of Lisieux. I wish I could know for sure- but either way- St Therese of Avila would also be a FABULOUS confirmation saint:)

Your post reminded me that a while back, I had been wondering WHY I haven’t been asking for her intercession all these years?

I’m going to start talking to her, and asking for her help.

St. Mary the Blessed Virgin. 🙂

I chose her because of the fact that she is such a loving mother. She is also a wonderful role model.👍
My grandparents, too were/are quite fond of her as, before my Grandpa died, my Grandma and Grandpa would get up quite early and say their rosary together. ❤️
Growing up, then, St. Mary the Blessed Virgin was also probably the Saint that I knew the most about since she was Jesus’s Mom and also, after we would say our meal prayers together as a family at home, we would always, and still do, include a Hail Mary. 🙂
I also really like learning about and visiting, when and if I can, Mary apparition sites.😃

Another saint I haven’t heard about until now. It’s always a wonderful experience for me to learn about a saint someone is devoted to. Thanks for sharing!
St. Peter. Hands down.
St. Peter definitely an amazing saint.

Oh, wow! I’m sure they had quite a few tales to tell. Saint Vincent is a great saint. ^o^

Ha ha! I would’ve done the same. Both Saint Therese I’m sure are glad nonetheless, and more sure that The Little Flower will be really happy to talk to you once more. 😉

The Blessed Virgin is always inspiring. I didn’t realize until now that Mary could become someone’s patron saint. That’s really cool!
