I am glad I am not the only one that didn’t know of this new sect. There seems to be something new springing up every day. Makes me glad to be Catholic.

Another reason I reject this Book of Mormon: The Catholic Church rejects it. I happen to believe the Bible. Included in this book is the real Testament of Jesus Christ written in His own blood. In the Bible we meet the men he called apostles and the man Peter he said He would found His Church on. The history of the first century Church shows us how this Church, first with Peter, then his successors grew and later became the Catholic Church. I do not reject Jesus. I embrace Him and find Him in the only institution He personally founded while walking upon this Earth.

I may be one of the few who have read it. It did nothing. No burning in the bosom. I could clearly see the influences of a ninetheenth century mindset flushed in new archeological discoveries and raised on King James English. What I posted from the website does not apply. I am not adulterous. Never have been, never will be. Do you need a definition here, too?

We have a Catholic priest who uses TBOM in his services, so don’t act so high and mighty that even you can’t benefit from TBOM - not Mormonism - big difference.

I don’t believe you that a Catholic uses such things in any Catholic services.

The Book of Mormon is a work of plagiarism and fiction. It is the work of Man. These “witnesses” never SAW the Book of Mormon with their eyes. There is nothing holy or scriptural about the Book of Mormon. It is not about the Jesus that we know from the New Testament. There is no productive value to discussing it.

No holes huh? Show me the simple instructions for baptism and communion in the Bible. Guess where they are? In TBOM! I guess God knew you would need TBOM after all.

I do not know what you mean by holes. The instructions for communion and baptism do not have to be in the Bible. Some are, Matthew 28:20 pops to mind without looking anything up. But the Church has never been reliant on the Bible alone. We just do not look to made up fairy tales.

Well, figure that at least 14 million Mormons are on the planet right now. Figure that perhaps a third again more people have actually read the book, making a further 4 or 5 million people (that’s a number I pulled out of the air, by the way, but seems fairly reasonable, considering the number of antis’ I come up against who claim to have read it) . Not counting, of course, everybody who has read it who is actually, y’know, DEAD.

While you might consider upwards of 18 to 19 million people ‘a few,’ I think that, just perhaps, you might have a slightly skewed perception of the definition “few.”

I’m just sayin’, is all.
