I do not know if their is a Hell, or anything like it, I do know, no one can escape death.
As no one can escape death (physical) no one can escape life. (spiritual)

Equal balance is what your emblem (sign) indicates, therefore, there are two sides to life and death.

Upon your creation death reigned on both your physical and spiritual, but since Jesus, your spiritual side can now be recreated for life: (without death) though your physical still dies.

There is no other means by which mankind can resolve life after death, for mankind had no hand in it’s own creation.

Hey Guys!

I thought this would be an interesting topic, Who Goes to Hell?

Now, Your answers should not be judgmental and the purpose of asking this is not to judge people, but to study our religious texts on the subject of a “Place where the bad people go after death”

My stance is that some people do go to hell and it seems to be eternal:

Revelation 20:

10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

It seems to me that the Lake of Fire = Eternal Punishment and that Satan, the Beast, the False Profit, the Fallen Angels, and some People on this earth will definitely be going there and that the punishment does not end. I think Jesus reiterates this point:

Mark 9:47-49

47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48where
" ‘their worm does not die,
and the fire is not quenched
.’[a] 49Everyone will be salted with fire.

It seems that Jesus is talking about regular people who are sinners that can go to hell and the statements he uses are Eternal statements. It also seems to match the Eternal Punishment that is described in Revelations where “They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever” is talking about the Beast, the False Proffit, and Lucifer/Satan/Belial and
“Everyone will be salted with fire.” is describing the evil trinity above + All People thrown into the lake.
First lets say God does not send people to HELL,People send them self to Hell and no denomination will send you to Hell and no denom, will keep you out of Hell .

Gabriel of 12;

Those who sin against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Without forgiveness, one cannot enter into heaven. That is why the bible teaches on the ministry of reconciliation in the sacrament of confession.

I am more interested in those who go into heaven! 🙂 However, just to add a comment to what Finrock said in post #38, the LDS doctrine of the temporary hell (in the spirit world, before the resurrection) is very similar to the Catholic doctrine of the purgatory. There is a close parallel between the two.

In Mormon understanding, very few will actually suffer the fate of the permanent hell, or outer darkness. . . .
Thank you Finrock for your well thought out reply. Just to make a small amendment, the expression “outer darkness” is used in the Book of Mormon to refer to the temporary hell not the permanent one. See Alma 40:11–14.

Who goes to hell?

All unrepentant sinners!
I hope you don’t die before you have a chance to go to confession and repent of all your sin from that day. That would be most unfortunate…

John 14:6 is your answer

6Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Anyone who has made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior is apart of the one True Church and body of Christ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

As I understand things, being repentent implies being reconciled to Jesus Christ and Christ alone. Repentence to the Lord - mentioned in an earlier post of mine - implies being reconciled to Jesus Christ - as Jesus Christ alone is Lord (with His Father and Holy Spirit) …Even those who in their life-time aren’t nominal members of his Catholic Church (those who are not baptized Catholic but are in union with Christ by some implicit association) can be saved. - The Church teaches that if you accept Christ at your death even if you aren’t nominally a Catholic, you can actually be “saved” by some special unique association you have to Him. These special souls can be saved without having known the Gospel by having actually lived it out, having cooperated with grace and a good conscience, while having sought truth and having lived the life of a child of God with love of God and neighbor as his/her normal way of life.

My understanding of repentance is the changing of mind.
From the former way of thinking, meaning, attempts at righteousness for the sake of salvation via our personal works to accepting the works of Jesus’ righteousness over our own for our salvation.

That changing of mind can only be affected first by the change of heart, a re-birthing of the souls spirit to that of life in Jesus.

If and when that takes place, all other things are worked to bring them under submission to the will of God.

Simply stopping to do things as repentance, accomplishes no good thing, since the motive for stopping is regulated by some law or directive.

If it is not born in the heart, hell remains.

What sin from what day?

by unrepentant sinners i mean those who know they are sin and embrace it , and also reject god’s mercy, truth and who die in the state of sin wothout confession.

And just for your information, i confess whenever i need to do which is pretty much weekly.
